The power goes out!

As Sarah sits on her knees, resting from such a panic inducing moment, all of a sudden, the lights turn off and the washing machine shuts down.

Sarah immediately gets surrounded by darkness with no light to guide her. The deafening silence in the basement and her faint vision of her general area send Sarah into a panic.

“Must be one of the others!” Sarah said to herself in a hurtied tone.

She gets up from off the ground and moves her arms in front of her. She eventually finds the wooden railing for the stairs, sliding her hand up and down the railing to make sure. She carefully, but quickly ascends the stair case and opens the door.

“Is everything alright?!?” Sarah asked, darting her head around to see if anything was wrong. She sees the others in their seats, with Emily looking worried as she hugs her knees to her chest. “Sarah? Why did the power go out?” Casandra asked in a concerned tone.

“What about our clothes? Are they ok?” Jessica asked.

“I think they’re fine, but they are for sure still dirty,” Sarah answered.

Jessica could feel the sense of dread kicking in. Her clothes being unwearable means she has no cover for her chest. Jessica does as Sarah told her, taking deep breathes. She closes her eyes, hoping today was all just a bad dream. But no matter how hard she tries to wake herself up, she can’t. She’s stuck in this nightmare.

“No, it’s fine Em! None of this is your fault! I should’ve done laundry this week, and maybe I would’ve spotted this issue earlier,” Sarah said, turning her attention to Emily. It takes all her willpower to not look down at her exposed crotch.

“Doesn’t matter now. We’re living in the now, no point in asking what could’ve happened,” Yuri said.

“I guess you’re right, but what do you suppose we do in the present then?” Casandra asked.

As the five think, Sarah remembers something from the first time she had moved into the house.
