Sparks fly!

Sarah stands back, watching the washing machine run smoothly. She smiles, knowing that some enough, everyone will be wearing their clothes again, and they can resume their night of fun.

But suddenly, Sarah begins to smell something strange in the air, something akin to smoke. Sarah begins to worry something might be burning upstairs.

“Oh god, what now?” Sarah said with concern in her voice. She turns around to head back up the stairs, but suddenly she hears a loud boom and crash behind her!

Shocked, she quickly turns around to see sparks flying everywhere behind the washing machine! She desperately runs over to the machine, fear in eyes as she watches streaks of white light flow from behind the washer.

Mean while, the other girls sit in silence, waiting for Sarah to come back from the basement. Both Casandra and Jessica feel bed for what they said to Emily, but could you blame them? Imagine losing your clothing and having to watch your clothes get ruined! You’d probably be a bit mad too.

Nevertheless, they know what they did was wrong, and Jessica can’t take the deafening silence any longer.

“Emily, I’m sorry for shouting back there, I really am…” Jessica said in a softer tone of voice. Emily doesn’t respond, making Jessica worry.

“I know it was an accident, and you didn’t mean to do that, but I just got so mad cause… cause tonight’s been just a roller coaster, and I wasn’t sure how to react,” Jessica elaborated, but Emily still stayed silent.

“You… you don’t have to forgive me, and you probably won’t, but all I’m saying is that I hope I didn’t break out friendship, ok?” Jessica pleaded. She waits for an answer, but the longer her delay, the more worried she gets that she might’ve lost a friend tonight.

“We’re still friends? Even after ruining all your clothes?” Emily said meekly.

“Of course! Besides, Sarah’s gonna clean our stuff like it never even happened!” Jessica said, reassuring Emily.

Emily gave Jessica a soft smile. “Thanks!”

Jessica feels relieved hearing that. She puts a hand over her chest, feeling her heart rate slow down after all that tension Emily put her through.

“I also want to apologize…” Casandra said shortly after.

“Thank you too, Casandra!” Emily said with an even brighter smile. It seems as if now, all of this will be water under the bridge and they can continue being friends.

Meanwhile, Sarah is freaking out! She hurriedly turns off the machine, pressing the off button multiple time, but the machine continues to stay on.

The sparks get more violent, spewing everywhere! Sarah panics, thinking that this could cause a house fire if she doesn’t stop this quick. Her heart races as the adrenaline in her system goes overcharged.

She looks left and right, finding something to stop the sparks. She scans the room to find a fire extinguisher, luck for her that the house came with one when they bought it.

Sarah dashes toward the fire extinguisher, fiddling with the device in her hands as she panics.

She rushes back, takes the nozzle and aims it behind the washing machine. She pulls the trigger and closes her eyes, bracing for what’s about to happen.

The contents of the fire extinguisher explodes out of the nozzle, coating everything in its wake. After a couple of seconds of Sarah spraying down the area, she lets go and places the extinguisher down.

The entire back and half of the washing machine is covered in a soap like substance and the sparks and smoke are completely gone! Surprisingly enough, the machine is still on and washing their clothes.

Sarah whips the sweat off her forehead as she lets out a sigh of relief.
