Chapter 5

Enough Proof?
Yes
“Alright, I guess that proves it.” Alex said matter-of-factly.
The cafe thing might’ve been a fluke or something, but the sudden removal of all his body hair? While he was paying attention to it, at that? Alex prided himself on his self-awareness; and nothing could’ve been done to him in the time between writing the Rule and finding his hair missing.
And all that led to him having to believe the Rulebook to be the real deal.
“But that leaves the question,” Alex mused as he stared at the book. “What should I do with you?”
Despite asking, he found himself writing out some safeties in the Rulebook. He didn’t want to get monkey paw’d, after all.
New Rule: The writer of this Rule is the sole and complete owner of the Rulebook. The Rulebook can never be taken from the owner while this title is active.
New Rule: The owner of the Rulebook will always be able to access the Rulebook via summoning the Rulebook to the owner, no matter the distance between the pair or the obstacles between the Rulebook and the Owner.
New Rule: No one beyond the owner and anyone given express, explicit permission by the owner can perceive the Rulebook while it is out in the open. No one will find anything odd about the owner writing in apparent empty space.
Alex looked over the new Rules, and nodded his head in satisfaction.
“With that done, now I can finally figure out what to do.”
But before that, he heard a voice call out from the lower level of the house. “Kids! Lunch is ready!”
Alex cursed under his breath.
What Will He Do?
