That Damn Tripwire

Skyler got the last part of the lasso undone and threw it away just in time to hear Roxanne taunt her again.

She didn’t care that here she was in her bra. All thought of embarrassment cleared her mind now. She wanted nothing more than to pound this little monster into the ground. This wasn’t a game to her anymore.

Deftly, she also tossed another device from her pocket her boss had given her as she got to her feet. The small purple device rolled a few feet away as she turned to chase Roxanne yet again.

Roxanne had already made it to the hallway entrance again. Skyler turned to charge, when she heard a shriek.

The punk princess’s gait changed as she lost control of her body. She’d forgotten about the tripwire again and now found herself off-balance and practically hopping as she entered the hallway.

This was her chance. She launched herself over the sneaky tripwire just in time to fly at Roxanne.

Her hand tapped her remaining ankle and as if in slow motion Roxanne hit the ground and skidded across the floor.

On her hands and knees, Skyler crawled to catch Roxanne before she could leap to her feet again like the gremlin she was.

The babysitter caught Roxanne’s right ankle and managed to get a grip on it from her own prone position.

“Got you!” Skyler yelled in triumph.

Roxanne struggled and tried to pull herself along. Her hands tried to find some purchase to pull herself free. Struggling like a caged animal, she attempted to flop her way to freedom.

“Not again,” Roxy said more to herself than Skyler.
