Chapter 9 by Molotov989

The ambush is sprung!

Attack men! With Valour against the beasts!

When the white furred female was close to the cart, the old man moved his hands in swift motions, calling on invisible chains to hold 20, including the female, in place! Shocked by the sudden restriction some fell, or dropped their weapons, confused at what **** had just hit them so.

"For the Empire! ATTACK!" Gunther bellows from his hiding place, as you and 80 of your axe men rise from hiding places in the woods all around the path!

Swinging their axes, and butting the goat men with their shields, your troops fall upon the beasts like an avalanche. Trapped on either side, the beasts make to flee down the path, only to find the rest of your axe men in waiting.

200 versus under a quarter of that number made for a very quick, and very brutal battle. Some where simple cut down, necks slit or chests cut through. Others chopped into little parts, and thrown around the surrounding forest.

At the end, only 7 remained, including the white furred mistress of the group. She was still struggling against the invisible bonds, but by the time you had cut down the last of the fleeing goat men, she had freed one hand.

It was enough, in moments she had pressed a tiny flute she had dangling from her neck to her lips, and was already playing a song which would mean trouble. from her side, one of your axemen was cast aside by a tree stump, and the other a goat man found himself tripped by roots.

Attempts to stop her where met by equal fates, and those goat men that fell where quickly finding themselves free from their magic bonds, and lunging wildly at their human captors.

Glaring at you with hate in her eyes, she blew a low note and the pebbles and earth of the road grew in-front of her into a man-like form. If you would end this, you would have to fight this summoned beast.

How will you slay her protector?
