Strange reactions from customers

Lauren dropped off the order off at the kitchen. The cooks all smirked at her and laughed among themselves. This only increased Lauren's annoyance. What the hell was going on with everyone?

A short while later the food came out. Lauren grabbed the plates and carried them out to the table, delivering them to the customers.

"Oh, you remembered all our orders! A woman said to Lauren.

"Uh, yeah." Lauren said.

She was a professional waitress, why were they acting so impressed?

"Such a good job!" Another woman said, reaching up to Pat Lauren on the shoulder. "Don't worry, we'll leave you a big tip!"

"You better." Lauren thought, confused and bitter. She had no idea she was dressed like a dorky kid in little boy clothes, and that was why she was getting such a different response. She went to help the next table...
