The First Domino

The first domino to fall was the only non-wife in the group, the recently divorced Cindy. Julia and Elizabeth had quite intentionally chosen the young, aggressive, dominant Faheed for the older, shy, demure Cindy. Cindy's son Chris was likewise a shy introvert, and wasn't going to challenge Faheed.

He moved in during the spring, which coincided with Cindy dropping out of the church and converting to Islam. Shortly thereafter, they married, a topic that roiled many of the husbands in the neighborhood, many hoping for the busty older blonde as a sidepiece, or to set her up with one of their friends. That turmoil was exacerbated when Chris began attending the local mosque with his new stepfather.

It was the first step, Elizabeth knew, but an important one.
