The creature gets the drop on Malene. It slams its full force into her before she can even get out of her bedroll. [5 vs 21] But Malene braces herself.

She swings her sword, hoping to make contact with whatever body this creature has. [10 vs 19] But she fails to make contact as well.

The creature slams again, hoping to incapacitate the already injured elf. [16 vs 16. Chance to block: 24. Damage reduction: 5. Damage: 1] Malene grunts as it gets a good attack in.

She’s determined to dispatch with this creature once and for all and swings again. [18 vs 21] And fails again.

The creature refuses to stop without being able to take her away to some unknown fate. It slams again, hoping to drain her stamina. [6 vs 16] But Malene stays strong and stays upright.

Malene does the only thing she can do and swings. [15 vs 12. Chance to block: 16. Damage reduction: 2. Damage: 2.] Malene knows something connected this time, as a piercing sound is carried on the wind.

Wounded now, the thing has renewed purpose. It slams again. [15 vs 12. Chance to block: 13. Damage: 6] This time Malene bears the full brunt of the damage. Her head swims and her vision begins to go grey around the edges. As it does, she can feel herself being lifted up on the wind and carried off somewhere unknown.
