Chapter 11 by frogogre1 frogogre1

So what happens next?

Batman happens

Harley pov

Harley slowly drives her Mr. J back to the hideout. Being sure to obey every driving law in order to not draw any attention.

So after a couple hours, they finally get back in her condemned apartment hideout. Harley slowly and as gently as possible drags Jim into the apartment room and tucks him in the bed.

"Alright, Mr. J, your little Harley is going to have to go out and get you the medicine you need, but don't you worry, I'll be back in no time, and no one knows your here, Mr. J, so you'll be safe, but I'll be back soon." Harley said before giving Mr. Jim a kiss on the cheek and heading out.

Jim pov

I lay there asleep for the whole day as it once again turned back into night before finally waking up to a full throbbing pain coming from my left eye socket. The cause of my sudden wakefulness after the dead sleep I was in that was caused by the rather intense surgery.

As I lay there in bed waiting for Harley to come back with the meds. I'm left wondering how lucky I am because, out of all the people the joker has helped, I believe I'm the only one Harley's ever helped.

I can now also look forward to the fact that I shouldn't get maimed or hurt that badly by anyone else anytime soon, especially with Harley looking out for me while the Joker's is in jail. The universe decides to prove him wrong in the very next moment.

"Where are the rest of Joker's bombs?" Batman screamed as he broke down the door. Scaring the crap out of Jim as he spun around rapidly to stare at Batman in stunned and terrified awe. Who was now standing in the doorway, giving him the legendary Batman glare?

" Batman?" Jim stuttered, falling back as Batman advanced on him. Still giving him the bat glare, but now with what seemed to be extra rage. He grabbed Jim by the leg, dragging him out of bed, and then picked him up by the throat before slamming Jim by said throat into the wall in the time it would take someone to blink an eye.

"Where are the rest of the jokers bombs? You wouldn't want me to have to start getting rough," Batman asked well, applying pressure to Jim's throat before letting off but still keeping his hand firmly wrapped around Jim's throat. Batman Eye's somehow promising far more slow and violent methods were in Jim's near future if he didn't start speaking soon.

"I swear to God I don't know. I don't have anything to do with the Joker; besides that, he used me for target practice," Jim said, panicking as the batman was already **** him and slamming him into walls. He didn't want to know what Batman's threat meant, so he quickly gestured to his left eye socket, hoping that'd be enough evidence for Batman; it wasn't.

"So I just happen to find you in one of Harley Quinn's hideouts and that the footage of you helping load up the necessary chemicals for joker bombs and before you point out your disfigurement again. You wouldn't be the first to be maimed by the Joker while working for the Joker." Batman said as he stared Jim down, the threat of slow agonizing pain still hanging over him.

"I swear I was just doing whatever the Joker wanted to not have him paint the store in my blood that night, and Harley took me here to rest and recover. I don't know why." Jim said praying Batman would believe him. He was probably the millionth person in Gotham to do whatever the Joker wanted so the psycho wouldn't kill him. So there was no way the Batman wouldn't be familiar with such a situation. Sadly, it wasn't Jim's night.

"A likely story, but you know what? I've just seen a floor of sick kids who can barely get up in the morning get gassed by the joker as one of his little jokes, and right now you are his only known victim to serve the joker with a smile on his face, giving him the means to do it. So I'm not buying it, so you've been giving me a lot of answers for questions I didn't ask but know it's time you answered the one I did. Where are the bombs?" Batman said as he reached with the hand not around my throat and grabbed Jim's left hand, then proceeded to use some strange hold to break Jim's pinky with a light snap. He said a white light, as whatever hold he used not only broke his pinky easily but maximized the pain he'd feel from it.

"Aaaaa, I don't know. I just loaded the stuff for him so he wouldn't kill me." Jim said, trying to answer Batman quickly, hoping beyond hope that he would believe him and not break any more fingers with that weird hold of his. It's not like he had any other choice; he had no idea where the bomb was.

"Not what I asked," Batman said as he grabbed the next finger and was just about to break it. When a figure ran in through the shattered door. A white and yellow blur was barreling before suddenly stopping right behind the batman.

"I think that's enough bats, don't you," Harley said as she appeared behind Batman with Mallet ready to bash his head in.

"Not until I get the Intel, I need Harley." Batman said not even turning around. Still giving Jim the thousand-yard stare. The look promising Jim he would shatter every bone in his body if that's what it took to stop Joker from gassing any more kids hospitals. The problem was he still didn't know anything about the joker's plans. So if Harley didn't get Batman to realize Jim didn't know anything, he was on a one-way ticket to breathing through a straw for the rest of his life.

"The bombs are at an abandoned warehouse on Seventh Ave. Joker ran out of chemicals to make enough bombs for what he wanted to do. So we went to the convenience store on a supply run." Harley said as she kept the mallet in position to brain Batman but didn't for fear of getting Jim hurt even worse, which was likely if a fight broke out between the two in the enclosed space they were currently in.

"Alright Harley I'll check out the warehouse, but know this: I'm only letting you go because you're acting as an informant. So if your lying to me, I'm coming back for the two of you." Batman said as he let you both go and walked out the doorway.

"I know bats, but you know what? Just to show Mr. Jim here is a great guy. I'll get through to Dr. Pyg; he's at an abandoned hospital on the east side of Sherman Street." Harley said as she got Mr. Jim back to his feet as he cradled his broken pinky. Which he was pretty sure had damaged nerve damage from whatever strange hold Batman had done.

"Alright, Harley, if both of these check out. I'll talk to the commissioner, and Jim's name will be in the clear." Batman said as he stood in the doorway.

"Alright, now get the hell out," Harley said, getting into a striking position with her mallet now that Batman was outside and she was standing between him and her poor Mr.J, but Batman was already gone.

"Come on, Mr. J, let's get going. We got to get you somewhere where they won't find either of us, at least for a while." Harley said as she gets Jim into the back of her getaway car once again before taking off.

Where does Harley decide to go next?
