The creature gets the drop on Malene. It slams against her, trying to knock the air out of her lungs. [16 vs 20] Malene braces herself and avoids losing her breath.

She grabs her longsword and swings wildly, hoping to make contact with the elemental creature. [5 vs 22] But she’s swinging blindly at the wind and fails to make contact.

The creature slams against her again, this time with all the **** it can possibly muster. She can tell it wants to take her down as fast as possible. [12 vs 12. Block: 20. Damage Reduction: 7. Damage: 1] She feels a bruise begin to blossom under her skin but she stays standing.

Now that she has a sense of where it is, Malene tries to swing her sword again. [13 vs 11. Block: 16. Damage reduction: 3. Damage: 4.] Malene hears a shriek on the wind and knows she’s made serious contact.

Furious, the creature slams against her again. [23 (critical) vs 26 (critical)] In its fury, the creature pulls back to try to slam the elf. Malene swings again, hoping to make contact. [18 vs 6. Block: 15. Damage: 1]

Pulling back, Malene swings again. [10 vs 13] She feels the wind rush past her and she fails to make contact. She hears the shriek again, this time somewhere to her left.

She wheels around and sees a familiar face charging her.
