13. Nothing happens

Malene spends a blessedly uneventful night under the branches of the tree entirely undisturbed. Even though she only has to rest for four hours, she waits for sunrise to start her journey again. It’s safer to travel by day she decides and she wants the extra rest. She eats the rest of the nuts she gathered the day before and readies herself for the day.

With a full two days left, Malene sets out in the direction of home, missing the river but fueled by determination but with a noticeable haze in her mind. She realizes she’s desperate for a fuck again.
