9. Another of the forest’s denizens

Malene moves with all deliberate speed through the woods, intent on her destination. But she’s brought to a sudden stop when she comes on a clearing featuring a massive brown bear still resting. Malene pauses, hoping she hasn’t aroused the bear’s attention and can walk past without a fight.
