Monique's Big Day

The day finally arrived. Douglas was somewhat surprised to see that Monique, always the confident and brash Black transsexual, was the most undone by Elizabeth's labor. She paced up and down the hallways like a tiger, occasionally pausing to hold hands with Elizabeth.

After a scant four hours, Dominque Sparks was born. And with Jordan, Mira, Douglas and the kids all there, at the end it all receded, as just Monique and Elizabeth held each other, and their son, and all was right with the world.
