Release the (Doctor) Kraken!!!!!

"Ack! Ugh, that was too close. So, they call you Dr. Kraken here, huh? That kinda makes me wonder... is your real name Otto Octavius here, too? Or something like, I dunno, Kenny Krakleton? 'Cause the latter just seems to make more sense..."

Gwen leapt into the air again as she, Felicia, and Cindy all dodged Kraken's metal tentacles swinging wildly.

"My identity is none of your business, intruders! Now tell me the reason you intrude on my home!" Dr. Kraken demanded angrily.

"Thor here was told you had been gifted a runestone by Amora the Enchantress recently. Given the way you swatted her hammer away a moment ago, that seems to be the case," Cindy answered. "Tell us what you know about her, and we'll be on our way. No one has to get hurt."

ThorGwen nodded in agreement as Mjolnir returned to her hand. "Aye, Dr. Kraken. I do not condone your past actions, but I do not wish to fight, either. I am merely here to gather information on Amora."

"LIES! She said you'd say that!" Kraken spat in response. "I've lost so many times to you in the past, Thor... I was never a match for your raw strength! With this runestone, however... I'll finally be able to claim victory over you!"

"Yeah... I don't think we're gonna be able to reason with him," Felicia pointed out. "This seems like one of those really unhinged Doc Ocks/Squids/Krakens/whatever his name is here."

Gwen yanked herself across the room, narrowly avoiding a tentacle barrelling towards her. "Agreed. Doc Ock -- I mean Kraken -- probably has that runestone on him. We yoink that, and ThorMe can take him down... we can do the whole interrogation thing afterwards," she suggested.

"A fine plan of attack, my acrobatic friend!" ThorGwen agreed. "It seems as if I can do little to help until that runestone is no longer in Kraken's possession..."

"Then let's take it from him. I'll provide the distraction," Cindy said, firing webbing at Kraken's face. Pulling the webbing from his face, Kraken focused his attention on Silk, swiping and thrashing his metal arms in a blind rage. Cindy was able to dodge the tentacle barrage, albeit barely. This allowed Gwen to swing in and surprise Kraken with a fast kick to the face.

"Huh. Usually that woulda knocked you right on your ass," Gwen mused.

"Your meager offensives mean nothing!" Kraken taunted, now splitting his attention between Cindy & Gwen. "My strength has been amplified a thousandfold by Enchantress!"

"Oh, we know. We were just doing a little misdirection while our master thief did her thing," Cindy pointed out. Kraken turned to see Felicia holding the runestone that had been the source of his power. The light from the stone had faded, and Felicia gave Kraken a smug wink.

ThorGwen immediately jumped into action, throwing Mjolnir into Kraken's metal tentacles, smashing them as the hammer plowed through the prosthetic arms. Casually walking up to Dr. Kraken, ThorGwen knocked him over and placed Mjolnir on his chest.

"I shall make this simple, mad scientist. What do you know of Amora and her plans? How did you come to deal with the wicked Enchantress in the first place? Do you know of her location?"

"Ack... she came to me to make a deal... she asked me to run some tests on some kind of weird crystal. In return, she gave me that stone to deal with you and your so-called 'hero' friends... there's plenty of details on that computer there, but my data's incomplete... now get this cursed hammer off of me!"

"Cursed? Mjolnir?! Nay, 'tis quite the opposite!" ThorGwen disagreed. "This hammer is blessed with the power of--"

"--And it's awesome. But we should probably be focusing on the data this guy mentioned," Felicia pointed out to ThorGwen.

"Aye. You are right, my friend. Let us take what we came for and be off," ThorGwen nodded.

"What?! You're not going to leave me here, pinned under this thing, are you?" Kraken protested as the group walked away from him.

"Once we have left with what we came for, I shall summon Mjolnir and you shall be free of your restraint," ThorGwen answered. "I hope you have learned your lesson from this loss -- I do not wish to quarrel with you again."

Kraken let out a frustrated growl, his plans foiled once again. Gwen, Felicia, Cindy and ThorGwen confiscated the computer's hard drive and left Dr. Kraken's lab in the hopes that maybe this time, the scientist would learn a lesson -- even if he hadn't, they'd obviously set back his plans, whatever they were, and at that point, it was enough. ThorGwen and her interdimensional visitors had more pressing priorities at that moment.
