10. She’s almost caught, but hides successfully

This time she’s ready for the possibility of a guard. When she sees a torch rounding the corner, she darts into an alcove behind a suit of armor. Her chest makes it a tight fit, but her dark complexion hides her easily. They walk past.

Malene knows they’ll find their dead compatriot soon and the hunt for her will be on. She needs to get out and she needs to get out fast. Stealthy but much faster now, she darts down the hallway toward the double doors into the great hall. She puts her ear to the door, trying to determine if she can slip in unnoticed.
