11. An abandoned pack

Malene almost trips over the pack, feeling it with her feet before seeing it with her eyes. If she weren’t so cautious, she’d have yelped for joy. The pack is only about half full, but it still gives her a boon she hadn’t had before.

The sun begins to rise in the east and Malene knows she needs to find somewhere to hide and bed down for the day. Although… she considers pushing herself through the day as well and risking exhaustion dulling her abilities.
