Confront Irirangi.

There's an intersection of four pathways through the halls of the palace right up ahead, and the previous explosion heard was not far from this location. You all make great time--two in the group of course being from the deep, though they still keep behind your confident leadership, even if they don't know your title of Demon King--but as you near the crossroads, you feel a tense pull in your chest. Time almost seems to slow for a single moment, but it's enough to feel the oncoming danger. Something is coming from around the corner. Snow is about to be hurt.

Suddenly, you reach out and grab Snow's tail. It causes her to freeze up and yelp, but you pull her back into your arms. A second after you do, a blast of lightning shatters down the hall. You hold her tight and close, and she turns to you with shock in her eyes, yet pink in her cheeks.

"I've got you, Snow," you whisper. "Don't worry."

"Y-Yes you do. Thank you," she replies.

King Agam comes flying back into view--body scorched and bruised, but still swimming tall. But as he prepares himself, a figure dashes into him, grasping the shaft of his trident with terrifying strength. All her grace has vanished, and has been replaced by unbridled rage. Her hair lifts upwards with a crackle of electricity as her body surges with energy. Her eyes glow bright white, and the same glow extends out from her back in a series of tendrils. It's quite horrifying to see just how mighty her grip must be, as the weapon the king holds is starting to crack. Irirangi the Aquatic Scourge has made her appearance known, and her attention turns slowly to your party.

"... You!" she screams. Her voice nearly forces you back. "Nobody would have believed you. The Demon King's words would have been seen as poison. Yet of course my stupid husband had to get involved. Not only that, but I see him with some hussy? Do you think you can make a fool out of me?!"

"So you are jealous of Kailani," you say as you slowly draw your sword from its sheathe.

"I am jealous of nobody!" As she speaks the final word, she throws out her hands and causes an explosive shockwave to send everybody tumbling backwards. As she does, the walls around her start falling apart, and large chunks of the ceiling crash down to the floor. "I've had enough of this foolish city. Enough!" Then with that, she takes off through a hole above, disappearing from view with a trail of crackling energy behind her.

"The... The city," King Agam groans. "She'll hurt people."

"Where's Kailani?" you ask.

"Right here!" she answers herself. Coming quickly down the hall, now armed with one of the guard's tridents, she stops before you, panting. Her hair has been tied up into a ponytail now, though she otherwise still appears as the picturesque beauty she was made into. She then looks down at her embarrassing attire and readjusts it as best she can. "B-But I don't know if I can fight in this," she mumbles.

"Wait a moment. Were you lying as well?!" King Agam shouts.

Quickly, she places a hand over her chest and bows her head. "I am Kailani, scout of Dolphin Division 3. Please forgive me, my king, as I only did what I thought was best for our city. I would die to protect these walls. And with the Aquatic Scourge herself among us, I had to do something."

"Sorry, but we had to wake you up," you add.

The king sighs and places a hand over his face. "I can't exactly argue considering what I've done." Suddenly he slams his trident against his opened hand. "Come! We must make haste and find Irirangi before it's too late."

Snow nocks an arrow in her bow. "Just give the word, Kyle."

Candy plants her hands on her hips. "Well, I'm not usually one to save cities and stuff like some kind of hero, but I do like when people praise me."

"You were tricked, my king, but so were we," Kailani says. "Let's make things right."

"... Wow. You're still so beautiful," the king mutters.

"Focus!"

You dart ahead towards the opening above. "Let's take down a witch, guys. It wouldn't be the first time."
