What will you answer? Do you want to exchange your ring for this elf's amulet?
You respond negatively to the elf Traeliorn's proposal.
You study this amulet carefully. You consider the elf's offer to exchange your ring.
You realize that most of the properties of your magic ring have not yet been revealed.
You think: "The elf Traeliorn was able to identify only a very small part of the magical enchantments that were cast on this ring. However, he said that this magical object contains a variety of enchantments that are interconnected and complement each other. It is obvious that this ring can have many beneficial properties that have not yet manifested themselves. No wonder Traeliorn is so interested in this ring and wants to get it. I need to keep this ring for myself. In the future, I can benefit from this ring. Of course, I will not wear it on my finger is a ring. Perhaps I can find in some city a more qualified expert in magic than Traeliorn. And then I will find out all the properties of this magic ring."
So, you decide that the properties of the amulet that the elf merchant is offering you are not so important compared to the potential benefits you can get from your magic ring.
So you answer the elf merchant Traeliorn: “I will refrain from exchanging my ring for your amulet for now, Traeliorn. Perhaps in the future I will change my mind. But now I am not ready for this exchange.”
You notice a sense of annoyance in the elf's expression.
Traeliorn tells you: "Okay, Ulkin. I'm always happy to help you. If you change your mind, I'm ready to carry out the exchange I proposed at any time."
You took your magic ring and you packed it in your bag.
You say goodbye and you leave the elf merchant Traeliorn's tent.
You look around. You see that the caravan guards and the merchants' servants are busy preparing for the further movement of the caravan in a northern direction.
You went to check the guard patrols around the perimeter of the caravan. You spent almost an hour on this activity.
Soon the caravan's northward movement resumed. You walked along with the other caravan guards and you examined the surrounding area. You saw that the surrounding area has a small amount of vegetation. You noticed only a small amount of frozen grass and bushes on both sides of the trade route. To the right of the road you saw hills, and even further beyond the horizon you saw large mountains, the tops of which were covered with snow.
Dwarf Belknab sent individual caravan guards ahead to reconnoiter the area.
You noticed how the merchant Jodaz said something inaudibly and quietly to the dwarf Belknab. Merchant Jodaz had a frightened expression on his face. You assume that the ogre's attack had a depressing effect on Jodaz.
You heard the dwarf Belknab rudely answer the merchant Jodaz: “Stop trembling like a frightened woman, Jodaz! Nothing special happened! Just another ****. This young caravan guard knew what a dangerous job he was hired for. And you, Jodaz, knew that the longer the caravan travels, the more the risks increase. So stop whining! Your whining and your pitiful appearance irritate me!"
You hear Jodaz say in a trembling voice: “The appearance of this terrible ogre was extremely sudden. As soon as I saw him, I became afraid that this ogre would kill most of the guards and servants. But why did this ogre suddenly appear here? How could this ogre to be so close to the large fortified city of Teinlund?
The dwarf Belknab says irritably: "To the east of here are the Grayhead Mountains. These mountains are not that far from here. These mountains can be reached in three or four days' journey. There must be a network of caves in the mountains. And not all of these caves have been explored and controlled troops of the local duke. Therefore, the appearance of this ogre had a certain probability, although not very high. Consider yourself lucky, Jodaz! The ogre came to your caravan, attracted by the smell of your fat belly. The ogre just wanted to taste your fatty meat like delicious pork ham! Ha! Ha!"
The conversation between the merchant Jodaz and the dwarf Belknab continued for some time. But you are a little tired of their arguing and chatter. You began to walk away from them and you were distracted by exploring the surroundings.
So, your caravan continued its purposeful movement in a northerly direction.
Evening came.
Your caravan has reached the border between the Sacred Kingdom of Orlania and the Despotate of Yalann.
You have seen a large number of border posts near the border between the two states. You noticed numerous armed human warriors. You saw that these warriors acted under the leadership of several knights who sat in the saddles of large war horses. These knights were dressed in heavy plate armor and these knights wore closed helmets on their heads with lowered visors. Among other things, you noticed several priests from the Church of Equal Deities Brothers. You couldn’t even imagine why these priests are here.
So, your caravan had to go through cargo verification procedures and duty verification procedures.
You, as well as the rest of the caravan guards and servants of the merchants, began to unload the carts so that the border guards and officials of the Kingdom of Orlania could check the compliance of the goods transported by your caravan with the requirements of local laws.
What events will happen to you next in this border area?
