What's next?
Tricky Situation
As you woke to the abrupt knocking on your door, your head felt heavy, and the remnants of last night's debauchery swirled in your mind. You glanced at the clock, and it was already well into the afternoon, the sunlight filtering through your room's curtains. Panic seized you as you considered who might be at the door.
Panicked and disoriented, you turned your attention to Emma, who was also stirring beside you, her eyes fluttering open as she became aware of the knocking and your distress. In a hushed tone, you checked the time and realized the severity of the situation. It could be someone like Felicia at the door, and not once had you thought about her during your passionate escapades with Emma.
You quickly turned to Emma, urgency in your voice. "Emma, you have to hide in the bathroom. Whoever's at the door can't see you like this." Emma, with a hint of concern in her eyes, nodded and slid out of bed, her naked form briefly exposed before she hurriedly made her way to the bathroom.
But then she hesitated, her eyes darting to her clothes strewn on the floor. She grabbed them and retreated to the bathroom, leaving the door slightly ajar.
Taking a deep breath to steady yourself, you got out of bed, ignoring your rumpled appearance, and approached the door. You opened it to find Miranda on the other side, her presence nearly taking your breath away. She looked stunning, dressed in an elegant off-the-shoulder midi dress, her makeup impeccable.

"Hi," you greeted her with a mixture of surprise and delight.
Miranda smiled hesitantly. "Hey there. Sorry for waking you up."
"It's okay," you assured her, gesturing for her to come in. You both walked past the bathroom, where Emma remained hidden, and made your way to the bed. The sheets were a mess, and it didn't take Miranda long to figure out that you had been sleeping.
"Your room looks like a battlefield," Miranda remarked, her tone light as she sat down on the bed.
"Sorry about that," you said, still in awe of her appearance. "I must have slept through the morning. You look absolutely stunning, by the way."
Miranda blushed, her hand gently playing with a strand of her hair. "Thank you. You...well you do look a bit shabby right now."
"You look absolutely stunning," you began, your eyes locked onto hers. "That dress suits you perfectly, and your makeup is flawless. Seriously, you're turning heads here."
Miranda's cheeks flushed with a rosy hue as your words washed over her. She twirled a strand of her hair between her fingers, her smile growing more genuine by the moment. "Thank you," she replied softly. "It's been a while since someone's said something like that, and I thought I'd dress up a bit for my day off."
You noticed the sparkle in her eyes and continued, "Well, they've clearly been missing out. You should hear compliments like this more often."
Your words seemed to envelop her, and Miranda's hesitance melted away completely.
You cleared your throat, trying to suppress the lingering memories of the previous night's unexpected turn of events. "Miranda, I owe you an apology. Unexpected circumstances came up yesterday, and I couldn't make it to lunch. I hope you understand."
Miranda's expression softened, and she nodded gently. "I was a bit disappointed, but I figured something important must have come up. No hard feelings, really."
Her understanding demeanor eased your conscience, but your attention was divided as you noticed Emma peeking out of the bathroom, curious to see who was in the room. Luckily, Miranda's back was turned, and she couldn't see Emma.
Thinking on your feet, you quickly concocted an excuse. "Excuse me," you said to Miranda, "but I feel terrible about missing lunch, and I'd hate to talk to you with my... well, let's just say not-so-fresh breath. Would you mind if I quickly freshened up?"
Miranda chuckled lightly. "Of course, go ahead. I appreciate the honesty."
As you made your way to the bathroom, you shot Emma a quick, urgent look, gesturing for her to stay inside. She nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. You closed the bathroom door behind you, grateful for the chance to discreetly address the unexpected presence of Emma.
In hushed tones, you asked Emma, "What are you doing?"
She glanced around the bathroom, looking a bit disheveled and clearly hungover. "I'm trying to leave without Dr. Maci noticing. I can't let her see me like this."
You nodded, quickly considering your options. "Alright, I've got two options for you. Either you stay here until Miranda leaves, or you sneak out while I talk to her. What do you prefer?"
Emma thought for a moment before deciding, "I'll leave during the distraction. Just let me know when it's the right moment."
With that settled, you turned your attention to your own appearance. You picked up your toothbrush and applied toothpaste, brushing your teeth thoroughly. Meanwhile, Emma sat on the toilet seat, a makeshift perch in the confined bathroom.

As you glanced over at Emma, her current state was a striking contrast to the bold, confident demeanor she had exhibited the previous night. The effects of **** were evident, and it made you reflect on how drastically different she seemed now.
After finishing your task, you leaned in close to Emma and whispered, "Wait for the right moment." Then, you carefully opened the bathroom door and returned to the main room to face Miranda.
As you took your seat once more, you gazed at Miranda and started the conversation with a hint of flirtatiousness. "So, Miranda, how've you been since we last talked...yesterday?"
Miranda smiled, and you returned it with a playful grin. "I've been alright," she said. "Not much news, really."
You decided to probe a bit further regarding the cryptic message from Dr. Ehrmantraut that you had seen the other day. "Oh, speaking of, have you heard anything interesting from Dr. Ehrmantraut lately? He didn't show up to the last class."
Miranda tilted her head, considering your question. "I haven't heard much lately," she said, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "But I do remember he's been quite preoccupied with his research. Maybe it's related to that."
Just as you were about to ask another question, you heard a slight noise behind Miranda. Emma was sneaking out, and Miranda seemed to notice the movement. Before she could turn to look, you leaned in closer and gently brushed your fingertips across her hand, keeping her attention on you. Your touch elicited a slightly surprised yet pleased expression on her face, and she didn't turn to see what had made the sound.
You continued the conversation, talking while Emma quietly made her exit. "You know, I'm really sorry about missing lunch with you yesterday. How about we make it up today? We can have lunch together now."
She agreed and suggested, "That sounds great. How about you freshen up quickly, and we can head out."
With a nod, you grabbed some clothes and headed to the bathroom, leaving a slightly flushed Miranda in the room, her attention on you as you prepared for your lunch.
