Chapter 2
by Arthor Thomarius
So, who will be the person trying to achieve success in this world?
A young savage man from a northern tribe who fell into slavery.
(All the characters are over 18)
"AND SOLD!" You hear the auctioneer shout before slamming his gavel down. You watch as the terrified young woman standing in front of you is lead away by a grizzled looking grey-beard of a dwarf who had just bought the newly enslaved girl.
"No! No! Please!" she cried and struggled only to be struck by her new owner to the amusement of the crowd. The girl who looked to be about your age, 18, was dragged off to a life in bondage. The same fate which awaited you, your mother, and your twin sister.
Until recently, your life was good. Your father was a great hunter and elite warrior in the service of the chief of your northern nomadic tribe. Your family had large herds of livestock. Your mother, a talented druid, was respected by the people of your tribe because of her ability to make medicine from herbs and because of her ability to cast magic. It wasn't until you were approaching adolescence that it occurred to you that most of the people who were looking for your mother were women of a certain age who wanted to look as young and beautiful as your mother continued to be, and were willing to trade a dozen seal skins and whole walrus meat into a small vessel that contains her special enchanted ointment. Your family were respected members of your tribe. As a child you didn't want anything. Your youth was spent in nature: you hunted in the forest, you fished on the shores of the cold northern sea, you roamed with your tribe across the expanses of the northern lands.
You listened to stories about how your grandfather killed terrible monsters (blue-skinned ogres and ice trolls) that threatened to ruin the nomads of your tribe. You would dream of becoming as brave and famous as your grandfather and all the other great heroes of songs and stories.
Years passed.
You have reached the age of 18 and have passed initiation. You have become a young hunter in your tribe.
A couple of months later, an unexpected event occurred in the life of your nomadic tribe.
In the waters of the cold northern sea, near the coastal nomads of your tribe, huge wooden ships were moored, which belonged to some creatures that looked unlike the representatives of your tribe and any of the neighboring tribes.
These creatures were dressed in strange clothes, they had strange weapons that were much stronger than the usual spears with bone or stone tips for your tribe. You noticed that these creatures were also much more versed in magic than the inhabitants of your nomadic tribe. It was not difficult to guess because you saw how the sorcerers from the crews of these huge wooden ships cast spells on these ships and after that these huge wooden ships crossed the expanses of the dangerous northern sea, which were covered with dangerous ice floes, icebergs and reefs, without harm. You knew that your tribe could only make small boats that couldn't sail very far and that were only used for fishing.
On your first visit, creatures emerged from huge wooden ships and spoke to the chief and shaman of your tribe. Subsequently, you learned that these creatures said that they came from lands that are located far to the west, from a place called "The Shining City of Egluna". These strangers said that they wanted to trade with our tribe and that they wanted to buy a lot of food and a lot of slaves. The leader and shaman of our tribe consulted with the wisest elders of our tribe and decided to refuse these strangers. After all, our tribe did not have much food, and our tribe really needed food due to the increasing cold and due to the migration of herds of deer. In such conditions, selling food would be stupid. Regarding slaves, it can be said that our tribe sometimes fought with neighboring nomadic human tribes or with troll tribes or ogre tribes. But the capture of large numbers of slaves was a rare occurrence. Basically, slaves were sacrificed near sacred trees to please the spirits of their ancestors. Sometimes slaves were sold to a neighboring tribe. But these strangers, who arrived on huge wooden ships, needed to buy hundreds of slaves. There would simply be no place for our tribe to capture such a huge number of slaves.
So, on that occasion, the leader of our tribe completely refused these strange strangers. There will be no trade. You, like many other members of your nomadic tribe, thought that this would be the end of communication with these strangers.
However, you are wrong. You were catastrophically mistaken.
A month later, the chief of your tribe was informed of the attacks that these strangers were making against groups of hunters of your tribe. And most importantly, the strangers were gathering their armed forces near one of the sacred trees of your tribe. Such an insult to the spirits of ancestors could not be tolerated. This insult could only be washed away with the blood of foreign invaders. Therefore, the leader of your tribe gathered almost all the best warriors of your tribe and went in a western direction, to the nearest sacred tree, to meet the main forces of foreign invaders and destroy them all.
The leader of your tribe, Saulbaum, has gathered almost a thousand brave warriors, hunters and a significant number of frantic warriors who are possessed by the furious spirits of the forest and spread terror in battle among their enemies. Your father was also part of this huge army, the size of which was outstanding for your tribe and for all the surrounding nomadic tribes.
You begged your father to let you stand by his side in this great battle against the vile foreigners, who offended the spirits of your tribe's ancestors. You wanted to fight alongside your older brothers. But your father had a different opinion: he wanted you to stay in the nomad and protect your family.
You remember that conversation with your father in great detail.
What happened when you begged him to let you participate in the battle?
Your father laughed and rubbed your hairless chin.
“You'll get your chance soon,” he said, stroking his long, luxurious beard.
“Don't get into fights you're not ready for,” he said.
“You have an important job here. I'm counting on you to keep your mother and sisters safe while I'm gone."
You told your father that he could count on you, that you would protect the nomad, protect the family.
“Okay,” said the father. After that, he smiled, stroked the hair on your head and left. This was the last conversation you had with your father.
When it came to keeping the village safe, you failed.
While your father and other warriors of your tribe around him were being destroyed by powerful magic, strange, very durable weapons of strangers and shots of some strange devices that threw huge stones, your village was raided not by strangers, but by the forces of one of the neighboring nomadic human tribes. Enemy warriors burst into your nomad camp, taking advantage of their numerical superiority. They would then break into the tents of your tribe's people before you and the other hunters who remained to guard the camp could organize an effective defense. When you grabbed your spear and shield, there were three hostile male warriors in your house. They overpowered you: one of them grabbed your spear, and the other two knocked you down and tied your hands with ropes.
You were **** to listen as the men found your sisters and mother. When your older sister Deardra fought back against the men trying to have their way with her you heard one of them cry out "My nose! You bitch." The other men laughed, there was a bang, your mother's screams were like needles in your ears, you heard Deardra's lifeless corpse THUD to the floor.
You and the other survivors were tied with ropes and **** to walk for days on end. Cold, hunger and flies were your constant companions. The devil's water ration is the only consolation. Even that wasn't enough as you were led through the remains of the battlefield. You watched as foreigners killed the wounded warriors of your tribe with their strange weapons. Soldiers dressed in clothing made of material that shone in the sun walked in the shade of your tribe’s sacred tree and escorted prisoners.
"Keep moving." - One of the similar soldiers told you before hitting you with the blunt end of his spear. Shackled, naked, hungry, dirty, you cower and move forward, recognizing that your destiny is now in the hands of the ancestral spirits.
When the march finally came to an end, it was inside a strange foreigner ship, which was made from the wood of a tree whose species was unknown to you. You were taken into the hold of the ship, you were **** to lie down and chained to your place.
You do not know how long you laid in the darkness of that ship's hold. Crammed in with no space between you and two other men, their feet right in your face. You felt the bracelet bolted onto your wrist irritating your skin and wondered what its purpose is an what the markings engraved on it say. Every day more and more people would join the ranks of the damned, every day the sounds of lamentation and despair would grow louder. When they finally did let you up to get some exercise by dancing for the amusement of the crew and blast you clean with cold water magic you saw to your horror that land was not in sight. Your tribe's boats could not sail that far into the open sea. The world disappeared and you were on your way to a mysterious land on the other side of a huge, endless and cold sea.
You thought that between the stench, the rotten rations, the foul water, and growing number of lifeless corpses dragged up and tossed into the briny depths, you did not think that you would survive. It was only by hearing your mother and sister's voices calling your name and asking if you are still alive that kept you going. You promised your father that you would protect them, as long as you are alive and they are alive, you have a job to do.
Eventually, you were dragged up onto the deck and saw to your shock, relief, and horror that you had arrived at your destination.
This settlement... What did the strangers who captured you call it? The Shining City of Egluna!
You didn't understand the meaning of the word "city", but that didn't stop you from realizing the shocking size of this settlement.
The city was enormous, there were more people going about their day doing their jobs in the dockyard than you had ever seen in one place in your whole life. You watched as people crawled into strange large structures that were made of stone or wood and that were four times the size of the largest ogre you had ever seen.
You were marched off of the ship and into holding pens which was a huge improvement over the ship. They gave you enough food that you started to gain back some of the weight you had lost on the ship. Your cell had a window that let you look down onto the streets through the bars. You saw you saw all sorts of people wearing the most outrageous and strange attire. The more you try to make sense of things from watching the people, the more confused you become. One thing that you figure out is that it does not seem to matter what species you are, you watch elves with dwarf slaves, orcs with elf slaves, humans with human slaves, anthros with demi-human slaves, it seems like all that matters in this place, this city, is money and power.
After four nights of waiting, the guards took you to a room where you were strapped down and immobilized while the men in white coats rammed a hot needle through your septum and inserted a ring into your nose. "Can you understand me?" They asked you. You tell them they can go to the lowest depths of the twelve hells and fuck a devil-boar. "His translator is working. Look kid, don't make us hurt you." The man said as he changed his gloves and the guard standing over him with the pain stick stepped forward. You apologize. "That is better, ****." The man says before the guard takes you to a new cell where you are reunited with your mother and sister. Like you, they have gold rings dangling from their noses. The three of you cry and wonder what will become of you, but you all take hope knowing that whoever is in charge must want to keep the three of you together.
Then this morning, you understand why as you, your sister, and your mother are lead onto the auction block. "And here my lords, ladies, and gents we have a special treat for you. No ladies and gentlemen these two ladies are not sisters, this bitch here..." The auctioneer slapped your sister's ass. "Came out of this twat here..." The goblin waddled up to your mother and stuck his black claw like nails between her legs. "And the boy here." The goblin grabbed your cock and put a drop of something on it which **** you to grow hard despite yourself. "Think of the demis you will be able to breed. Skin like honey, hair like gold, eyes like emeralds. This package deal is going to start at 500, 500 hundred do I see six? Six there we go six fifty, seven hundred, eight, eight hundred do I hear nine? There is nine, nine going once, and there is nine fifty..." You look out at a sea of darkness, your view of the audience obscured by the light flooding down from above that seemed brighter than the sun itself. You had no idea who was bidding on your life, you could not see what sort of creature was interested in purchasing your flesh. So when you hear the auctioneer shout. "...AND SOLD!" You have no idea who or what is going to come up to claim you and what is left of your family.
