Feather-ripping problems

(Eric POV)

Eric woke up before Jessica, as he had every morning since they'd arrived on this island. She didn't seem to be stressed about today's date. She hadn't wanted to tell him her idea when he'd asked her about it last night. He couldn't hope for the best. In any case, one thing was certain: she had to win VPs if she wanted to avoid elimination.

That's what he'd insisted on last night. He'd have to talk to Abigail and Blanche about it because she was still at zero. And in all sincerity, he didn't want anyone eliminated just yet, least of all people he'd known for as long as he could remember.

Eric still didn't know what to think of Jessica. She was undoubtedly his least favorite person on the show. If someone had to be eliminated, he wouldn't hesitate about who to pick. He got out of bed as discreetly as possible, which wasn't easy with a pair of wings strapped to his back.

He looked at Jessica intently. She'd had two transformations so far. The most visible was undoubtedly those huge bazookas strapped to her chest. Eric knew this sight should have excited him, but once again he felt nothing.

Jessica's other transformation was more discreet, especially for those like him who didn't know her before. She was really fascinated by Leo. Of course, she'd deny it wholeheartedly if asked, but even a blind man would notice. That's probably why she was thinking of proposing the 'Girlfriend' theme to Nola. After all, given her popularity, she was likely to be disappointed very quickly.

Eventually she woke up and made a few remarks about her wings. Standard greetings didn't seem to be her cup of tea.

She dressed in a black top and black pants, all the while cursing Nola for having only black clothes in her wardrobe. Eric wasn't much better off in that respect, as he had to make do with shades of white.

After getting ready, they headed for the banquet hall. Obviously, since Jessica had taken a while to wake up, other people were already there. Abigail, Daphne and Blanche were discussing how Hanna's date had gone.

"Do you think she won't panic this morning after the pill wears off?" asked Blanche.

"Surely but having seen what she could do with confidence in herself I'm sure it will improve." Abigail replied.

"In the worst case she can always take another pill." Said Daphne.

"I'm not sure she's doing that because she wanted to save enough BP to take the permanent version." Says Abigail.

"I find it hard to understand why she would want to change her personality so much. She's cute with her shyness." Blanche said.

Daphne then spotted Eric and Jessica and decided to say hello.

"Hi, Eric, Jessica. Did you sleep well?" Daphne asked.

Eric hesitated to answer, but that choice quickly disappeared when Jessica spoke up.

"It's like hell to sleep with him. Those wings move all over the place and take up one of those seats." Said Jessica.

"It can't be that horrible, can it?" Says Daphne.

"You'll give your opinion when you wake up with feathers in your mouth." Jessica replied.

Eric was a little embarrassed by the conversation. But he could hardly contradict Jessica. These new members made sleeping quite complicated. He had to sleep on his stomach to avoid crushing them, and like all limbs at night, they moved.

"We were just discussing Hanna. Would you like to join the discussion?" Blanche asked.

"That geek must have had some fun yesterday. I don't really see what else there is to say." Jessica said.

"Yes on that point there's not much to say but what's going to happen this morning now that the effects of the pill have worn off?" Blanche said.

Eric noticed Blanche's tail wagging from side to side. It reminded him of his cat having fun chasing mice. Blanche was really enjoying making fun of the writer. Not that she had anything against her, it was just too much fun not to.

Their conversation was interrupted by the arrival of the subject of the discussion, blushing to the ear. Hanna must have heard what they were saying.

Leo walked ahead of her, looking straight ahead and glancing only at Jessica, with whom he had a date planned for today.

Eric glanced at the VP score to see what Hanna had managed to accomplish last night.

Eric : 7 VP

Daphne : 2 VP

Hanna : 1 VP

Abigail : 0 VP

Blanche : 0 VP

Jessica : -1 VP

On the face of it, Leo must have succeeded in preventing anything from happening. He'd have to find an opportunity to talk to her urgently, otherwise Jessica would be doomed.

"Leo, can I talk to you alone for five minutes?" Eric asked.

Leo seemed to hesitate, then moved towards him. They walked away for 3 minutes before Leo finally said:

"I think we've gone far enough. Say what you've got to say."

"Leo, you haven't listened to a word I said the day before yesterday. You've got to make sure we win VPs. It's important. Hanna only won one VP last night, but it's not complicated. I won 8 with no effort at all, so don't tell me it's difficult." Says Eric

"I wasn't going to take advantage of the **** state she was in. She wasn't in her right mind. Having relations with her in that state would have been ****." Leo said.

Eric sighed inwardly. He understood Leo's position, but there was undoubtedly more to it than that. But now was not the time to discuss it. His objective was to save Jessica.

_"Let's forget about Hanna then. Let's talk about Jessica. She's in the negative. If you don't do something with her, you're guaranteed her elimination. So, I'd advise you to be a little more proactive." _Says Eric.

"I'll do my best," says Leo with a faraway look.

Eric sighed. This was going to be difficult. They returned to the others to find Nola waiting for them in front of a golden door.

"Jessica has already proposed her idea, so you can leave now." Nola said.

Leo and Jessica didn't think twice and disappeared, leaving Eric to his worries.
