All together now

Kael awakes with the dawn, yawning and stretching. It takes him a moment to realize that he’s alone in the bed, something unusual lately. His muscles ache as he sits up, a reminder of last night’s exertions, and he smiles at the pleasant memory. Glancing around the room, Kael notes that Ria’s clothes are gone as well. Not surprising, as she didn’t bring a spare set, and he’d hardly expect her to go nude. Still, he at least expected her to wait and say goodbye before heading out.

Throwing on some clothes, Kael heads out of the bedroom. As he does, he hears Ria’s voice in the living room. Heading down the hallway, he finds both Ria and Evie sitting on the couch, clearly having a conversation. Both women are smiling, so nothing unpleasant, at least. As he enters the room, Evie sees him and suddenly stands.

“Oh, master, you’re up! I’m sorry, I haven’t made breakfast yet, I got distracted talking with Miss Ria!”

Kael waves a hand dismissively. “Don’t worry about it, Evie. You can keep chatting. Nothing bad, I hope?”

Evie sits back down. “Of course not, master. Just getting to know Miss Ria.”

Ria rolls her eyes. “Once again, it’s just Ria. No need to be so formal.”

Ria grins, a look of mischief in her eyes. “Maybe you can call me ‘mistress’ when I get you in bed though…”

Evie gasps and blushes, then giggles and looks away. Ria winks at Kael. “I think she likes that idea.”

Now it’s Kael’s turn to roll his eyes, as he sits in a nearby chair. “So is that what you’re ‘chatting’ about? Trying to seduce Evie?”

Ria laughs. “Trying? You underestimate me, big guy. But no, not just yet. Evie was curious about our date.”

Still blushing, Evie nods. “You seemed so…enthusiastic when you came in, master. I wanted to know what happened.”

Kael chuckles. “I suppose we did come in a bit eagerly. And I’m guessing Ria was happy to share the details.”

Ria grins. “I’m not normally one to kiss and tell, but this is a special situation. Besides, it’s not like it’s a big secret.”

Kael shrugs. “I didn’t think so either.”

Ria and Evie share a glance, and Kael looks between them. “I saw that. What are you two cooking up now?”

Ria laughs. “Nothing at all, big guy! Don’t be so suspicious.”

Evie blushes, but doesn’t say anything. Kael chuckles and shakes his head. “Fine, I won’t press.”

Ria nods. “Good. Don’t worry, we’re on your side!”

Kael laughs. “I wasn’t aware there were sides here!”

Evie stands up. “I’m going to make breakfast, if that’s okay, master.”

Kael nods, and watches the blushing elf hurry into the kitchen. Raising an eyebrow, he looks back at Ria. “You’re both terrible liars. Go easy on the poor girl.”

Ria smiles. “She’s fine. She embarrasses easily, but she’s tougher than you think. Besides, it’s all in good fun.”

Kael chuckles again. “Fine. I know you wouldn’t do anything bad anyway.”

That mischievous look comes across her face again. “Well, maybe something bad, but nothing harmful. This’ll be fun!”

Before Kael can question that statement, Ria stands. “I’ll go help Evie in the kitchen. We have more girl talk to do!”

With a wink, she walks into the kitchen. Kael watches her go, and laughs to himself. Things are certainly getting interesting around here.
