Leave the Room and Come Back After Jon Strikes Out.
I decided to take a break from watching Jon flirt with Arwyn and headed into the back with the dishes where my aunt Caris was talking to Gwen and her mother.
“So when can you start?” Aunt Caris asked Gwen. I guessed she had somehow managed to talk her mother into it.
“As soon as you need me. Tonight even if you like.” Gwen nodded happily and looked over at me giving me a little smile as I took the dishes over to the wash basin and raked out the ones that still had food in them into the sloop bucket to take out later.
“Well aren't you eager.” My Aunt replied. “Well that will be up to Gabby. She will be the one who gets to train you.”
“I do?” Gabby said as she came back with more dishes setting them down beside me on the table.
“You don't expect me to get out there and show her how do you?” Aunt Caris gave her daughter a look as she put a hand on her hip. “I am not as young as I used to be and I can not keep up with you young ladies. You know the job well enough by now you can do it blindfolded.”
“Great. I have my very own minion.” Gabby said as she came over and put an arm aroun Gwen.
“You are so bad.” Gwen giggled and shook her head.
“Well I can show you the basics tonight if you like and let you follow me around. Lets grab you an apron.” Gabby said dragging her to the pantry.
“Thank you Caris.” Gwen's mom smiled. “If you didn't hire her I have to kill her.”
“Of course.” Aunt Caris nodded and then looked at me. “How are we looking out there?”
“This is most of the dishes. Everyone is done except for a few tables including the adventures who had seconds.” I said stacking the dishes in the wash basin. “If you want I can go ahead and start on the dishes for you if you two want to sit and talk.”
“Well aren't you generous. What do you want?” My Aunt put her hands on her hip as she came over.
“Just a little tired. I could use a moment to stand still and take a breather.” I shrugged though truthfully I was full of energy after the potion Arwyn gave me. I could just use a break from Jon hitting on Arwyn was all. I know I had no right to be jealous but still I was for some reason.
“Very well. I am not going to say no to a break myself.” My Aunt smiled as she leaned over and gave me a kiss on the cheek as she brushed up against me. She headed out front with Ms. Tailor leaving me alone in the kitchen with the dishes. Part of me wished I had brought the book with me to read a little. I had read some on the bridge but found myself getting distracted to easily.
“Well this isn't the latrine?” A voice said and I glanced back to see Freya in the doorway.
“Sure hope not.” I gave a little laugh then pointed. “End of the hall by the stairs?”
“Thanks.” She nodded and headed back out. I made it through several more bowls before she came back and stuck her head in the doorway again. “So you got any of that food left or we eat it all?”
“Going in for thirds?” I laughed and glanced in the pot that was sitting beside the sink. “There is some left but not sure how warm it is. Your welcome to it.” I shrugged.
“Thanks cutie.” Freya said as she came over and pinched my ass as she reached past and grabbed a bowl I had already washed.
“Stop that. How you like it if I grabbed your ass.” I shook my head at her.
“I don't think you have the stones.” Freya teased as she walked back around and scrapped out the pot with the bowl. “So you come back here because you are sick of your brother flirting as well?”
“How did you...” I began to say and shook my head.
“Trust me not the first time she has gotten hit on by some guy. Most guys actually.” Freya frowned and turned around resting her ass against the table as she ate. I guess most guys tended to over look Freya for her friend Arwyn.
