A short figure in a cloth cloak with a hood appeared on the roof of the warehouse building. You noticed that this mysterious stranger has a small backpack behind his back.

Meanwhile, this stranger began to slowly walk along a rope that was stretched between the roof of the warehouse and the roof of one of the nearby houses. This stranger walked slowly and he gracefully balanced his feet on this rope. He managed not to fall.

You thought: “This asshole is as agile as a circus acrobat! But now I’ll help him “come down from heaven to earth”! Ha! Ha!”

You carefully leaned your halberd against the wall of the building. You then took your mace, which was clipped to your belt.

You looked up. The mysterious “acrobat” was already walking almost in the middle of this rope.

You appreciated the speed of his movement. You took aim. You swung fast and hard.

Your mace flew at this criminal "acrobat".

A moment later, the body of this agile guy falls to the ground. You quickly take your halberd and you run up to the place where the “acrobat” thief fell.

You are surprised to see that this asshole managed to group himself when falling. He didn't hit his head, but fell to his feet. And when he saw you, he tried to escape.

In this he clearly overestimated his capabilities. His limping gait indicated that the fall was not without consequences for this guy.

In addition, the tip of your halberd quickly approached his face. This fact also greatly reduced his enthusiasm for running through the evening streets of the city.

You kindly told this guy: “Take off your hood, you shit-eater! And don’t even try to do any bullshit! Otherwise, I might get nervous and make a few holes in your face!”

While you were saying this, you realized that this guy is not just short. This guy's height was even shorter than the normal dwarven height.

You thought: “Is this really a child?!”

Meanwhile, the stranger has succumbed to your art of persuasion. He threw back his hood. And you saw his face. You took a closer look: large round ears, no mustache or beard, shorter than a dwarf, curly reddish hair, a large nose resembling a potato, eyes of a brownish-yellowish hue. And an important feature: the pupils of his eyes are not round. His pupils are horizontal in shape. Like some goat.

You felt relieved: “This criminal is not a child after all. He is a fucking halfling!”

You knew something about these creatures. In the tavern, one traveler told you about them. Halflings (otherwise called “hobbits”; in addition, some wilder tribes of these creatures have several self-names) are not very numerous and not very widespread inhabitants of the continent. Halflings do not have their own state. The most civilized of the halflings live in large cities in the west of the continent. The less civilized halflings live in nomadic tribes that roam the forest or steppe areas of the western part of the continent. Distinctive features of halflings: height below the average height of a dwarf, the pupils of the eyes have a horizontal shape, the soles of their feet are covered with a small layer of fur. Halflings are typically known for their speed of movement and agility. That's why this guy managed to sneak into the warehouse building so cleverly.

You hear the words of this halfling: “Calm down, big guy! I think you don’t want to anger my employer. I’m offering you a small gift. And in return, pretend you’ve never seen me!”

You see the halfling's hand slowly move towards his belt. He unfastened his heavy wallet, he opened this wallet and showed it to you. The entire purse is filled with silver. You understand that in this wallet there is approximately as much money as you can earn in three months.

So you have to make a decision.

First option: you let this halfling thief bribe you. You will take this bribe. You will release this halfling thief who apparently stole something valuable and packed it in his backpack. And you won't tell anyone about the events that happened.

The second option: you resolutely reject the attempt to bribe you. You took the oath and therefore you will be an honest city guard. You will ensure that this halfling thief suffers the well-deserved consequences of his crime.
