What adventure will Orella embark on today?
WANTED: Witch of the Dryad Grove
Orella skimmed a bulletin board covered in printed mugshots, listing their names, their crimes, their prices and last known locations.
One particular poster caught her eye. It was an illustration of a woman.
She looked young, or younger than Orella, anyway. The illustration was in black and white, but Orella pictured her as a red head on account of all the freckles that marked her face.
Disgraced Enchantress Mira Haas
WANTED: Dead or Alive.
CRIMES: Murder, Conspiracy to commit Regicide, Treason, Forbidden-Level Curse Infliction.
Last seen fleeing into the Dryad Groves of Djanjuura.
100,000 silver shoals.
Sorcery had been legalized for a century now, but it was still considered every knight's dream to slay an evil spellcaster.
Back then, you wouldn't even be considered for the role of a squire by any self-respecting knight unless you've hanged at least three old ladies suspected of witchcraft first. Orella's most famous ancestor -- Ian the Green -- was granted Sainthood by the Holy Church after slaying the Unseelie Queen of Morin, and her less famous ancestor -- Anthony of Padilila -- was granted the title of Duke when he gave the Duchess of Granbury the severed head of a Necromancer as a dowry.
Orella wasn't prejudiced or anything. She had several wizard-friends. She just really wanted to lead a witch-hunt and kill a witch.
