A good time

Despite the stress and worry of the last few days, life slowly falls back into a comfortable routine. In fact, with Emi having no reason to hide herself anymore, she actually seems less reserved than she had been. Never as free spirited as Lili, however, the harpy as always a beacon of happiness and excitement, not to mention sexuality. But still, it’s good to see Emi smiling more often than not.

Your relationship with Sam progresses as well, with both of you visiting the other fairly often. As a group of four, it feels like a family, something that still surprises you a bit. Emi and Lili adore Sam, and all three of them adore you. You both agree that it won’t be long before your relationship moves to the next level, though neither of you can say for certain what that entails.

Sam’s more secretive pursuits have been far less successful.Her attempts at digging deeper into CompanionCorp have stalled, and her shadowy connections have balked at pushing any deeper. When you tell her about your clandestine meeting, she quickly agrees that you made the right choice, especially considering her own failure to make any headway.

The outside world is changing as well. As Hybrids become increasingly available, they become a more common sight. Reactions are surprisingly positive, with most people seeming to at least accept their existence, or being enthusiastic. There are, of course, people with the opposite opinion, especially more religious or conservative groups, who see the relationship between humans and Hybrids as barely more than a perversion.

Interestingly, the other protest comes from the other direction. A smaller, but no less vocal group argues that treating a being with near-human intelligence as a pet is essentially slavery. They say that Hybrids should be afforded the same rights as humans are. Although you privately agree, you also see them being loudly shouted down.

As for the Hybrids themselves, they’re largely of a piece with Lili; not particularly bright, but also generally happy. You occasionally hear a story of one being abused, but that seems extremely rare, more so even than with pets. By and large, it seems that people are simply happy having Hybrids as companions, whatever that means to them.

As for yourself, you fall into comfortable habits. Head to work, and come home to a happy pair. Spend the evenings in laughter and love, and spend the nights in bliss. You wake up most mornings in a tangle of naked bodies, and you honestly can’t think of a better way to start each day. You take the girls out and about whenever possible, and despite Lili’s protests about wearing clothes, everyone enjoys the time out in the world.

If life continues like this, you can’t see anything to complain about.
