"Um... well... How about Vogue? They're always provocative and feminist"

Her agents smile fluttered, but remained enthusiastic.

"That's a fantastic choice Emma! Yes, they are such a great advocate for woman's rights, I was talking to them on a conference call three days ago about a possible photoshoot!"

Emma felt a bit taken aback at how out of the loops she was, but she supposed that was just her agent doing her job... but did she know this is what she would pick? Why wasn't she told about the call? Was she that predictable? Emma felt manipulated, but couldn't think of a reason to cause any fuss over it.

"When can we do it?" Emma asked feeling a bit flustered.

"Emma, they've already been waiting for you for you at the photo studio all day, just hoping you show up." Emma almost had to blush, and let her Agent gingerly lead her to the car. Once inside her agent started filling her out on the details.

"Vogue wants you to know beforehand that it's going to be a very provocative shoot, and they just want you to trust them with the messaging, and not to worry about any stylistic choices."

"Ok, well it is their magazine. That sounds fair. I absolutely adore how they had a trans person on the cover, and the Kamala Harris spotlight was fantastic. Even if you disagree with her politics you have to recognize that kind of amazing ambition in a woman... I'm kind of a big fan so I'd be happy to be part of whatever it is they have in mind."

"Just keep an open mind Emma. A lot is at stake beyond just, well, you. I think they see you as a key part of their message."
