Chapter 4 by N0F8

what should you do?

You are transferring to Prism High

You let out a sigh from the memories flooding back to are you are here now. Sitting on a train, going to a place you haven't been before and where you will now be staying after everything that has happened recently. All you need to do now it accept what happened and move on with your life until everything blows over.

It is how you've dealt with the other hardships in your life. This time will be no different.

The train is extremely packed. People are gossiping, on their phones and just going about their daily lives.

"What? Are you for real? He just suddenly **** her and doesn't remember it?"

****? You look up to see a couple of girls who seem close to your age talking a few meters from where you are sitting.

"It's the truth!"

Your attention shifts away. They weren't talking about anything, not really. You keep your eyes on the floor for the rest of the trip.

The train slowly comes to a stop and everyone bundles off. You step off the train. Everyone in your life has turned on you in the span of a few weeks, even who should have cared. Your teachers have rejected you and expelled you from school, your friends have vanished because they didn't want to be associated with a ****, all because of the woman's lies. But nothing matters anymore. You are here, and there is no changing it. No one will know who you are except your new guardian and the school headmistress.

Starting today, Connie Leblanc will be taking care of you. Her house should be in the backstreets of this residential area... It is a quiet place, with only a few people and storefronts scattered about in the tight corridors of streets. However, it holds a simple and relaxed charm. There is also a public bath and a laundromat. You pass a hole-in-the-wall medical clinic, a shuttered movie theatre, a batting cage, and a convenience store in search of the Leblanc Residence.

The nameplate to the left of the doorbell says "Leblanc." It looks like this might be Connie Leblanc's house...

You ring the doorbell, but it doesn't look like anyone will answer this door. Maybe she's gone out...

A parcel deliveryman approaches the house, carrying a package in one arm. "Looks like no one's home..." He tugs down on his cap and sighs. "Oh, yeah... Leblanc's usually at her cafe around this time. Well, Lupin's in the back alley, so I should make my other deliveries first... Mmm, next I need to take this package to..."

And it looks like you have a cafe to find.

You walk around the backstreets for a while until you come across the cafe that you are supposed to find. It looks like this place is Lupin's. It is a small storefront that is across from a bathhouse. Its sign is small but inviting and has a nice rustic charm to it. You reach for the door, but your nerves decide to spike up. You know nothing about this Connie Leblanc. She was the one you were told would be taking care of you for the year. At least that was the name written on the sheet of paper you signed. She isn't a known relative of yours and not even a friend that you know of or to your family. You don't know why she excepted to take you, but you have stopped asking questions. And you were told nothing as usual by anyone except to do as you are told.
