A new villain gang appears

Static suddenly appeared on the television. Beast Boy threw down his controller in frustration. "Hey! What gives! I almost beat the level!"

The static was replaced by a group of six people. There were three men and three women, all dressed in street clothes. Their leaders, one man and one woman, approached the screen.

"Good evening, Jump City!" The man said. "Name's Nick, and this gorgeous babe next to me is Val!"

Val blew the screen a kiss. "Hey, people!"

Nick continued. "Sorry to interrupt, but we wanted to give you a little warning. Halloween is tonight, and for some reason, no one thinks about grabbing anything really valuable: just candy. So, tonight, my gang and I are going to change that! We, Patrick, April, Sam, and Eve are staging the biggest heist anyone has ever seen!"

"That's right!" Val said. "We'll be playing the biggest trick in the history of the city!"

Robin started to do his pre-battle check on his utility belt. "Why would these idiots tell us what they're doing? They have to know we'd be after them."

As if to answer his question, Nick held up a button in view of the camera. "We just wanted to give you guys a curtesy warning before we set off this stasis bomb we made. Everyone wearing a uniform or costume is going to get frozen in place where they stand!"

"Which means, all you superheroes out there will get stuck too!" Val added. "And don't even think about ditching your costumes for regular clothes. This sucker's gonna zap all you guys too! We're the only ones with any immunity! But don't you worry! We'll shut it off once we get our goodies!"

"Happy Halloween!" Nick shouted as he pressed the button.

A massive shockwave hit the Tower as the Titans tried not to fall over. Cyborg nearly spilled his paint mixtures while Beast Boy transformed into a cat to cling to the couch. Robin, Raven, and Starfire all fell to the ground as the shockwave passed them by.

Robin patted himself down and realized he wasn't frozen. "Is everyone okay?"

"I am unharmed, Robin," Starfire said.

"How come we're not stuck in place?" Beast Boy asked.

"Must be all that shielding I put on the Tower," Cyborg explained. "I charged that sucker to keep magic and tech stuff from hurting us while we're inside."

Starfire dusted herself off and charged her starbolts. "Let us stop these villains from messing with our Hallow's Eve!"

"Wait, you can't go out there!" Cyborg said. "The shield only works inside the Tower. If you go outside, you'll get affected and go stiff!"

Robin threw up his hands. "Okay, Titans, we need a way to fight these guys without getting hit by that bomb's effect. Any ideas?"

"I never wear anything anyway," Cyborg said. "I can handle these creeps by myself!"

"No way, dude!" Beast Boy said. "We're not letting you fight them by yourself!"

Raven stared at Beast Boy. "You heard the broadcast. That bomb will freeze any heroes, even if they're not wearing they're costumes. No spell I have will cover all of us for a prolonged fight. How ae we supposed to leave the Tower?"

Beast Boy's eyes widened and he looked away from Raven. She stared at her friend and noticed Cyborg turning around while Robin had an embarrassed expression. Starfire became excited and grew a small smile. "Oh! How fun!"

Raven suddenly came to a mortifying realization. "Oh, no."
