Robin is angry.

Robin’s look switched to that of a deep glare, she said “A termination chip? You can kill me at any time you want to.” Kyle slowly nodded “Why would you buy such a thing!?” She said barely containing her full fury. There was so much she wanted to do but she noticed someone in the shadows grabbing a weapon of some kind. Even though she knew she had her powers, she wondered if that even mattered. How quick does this chip work? Does Kyle have to be the one who uses it? She knew she couldn’t pull a Nami and wack him a good one for this. Perhaps she’ll give him the Franky treatment and make him pay! All this buttering her up, all this niceties, Kyle had one goal all along! However she knew that she was stuck with him, however he was going to pay for this. He’s going regret not… making her like the others… why did he not just do that?”

Kyle, on the other hand was having his heart race a mile a minute. There was no good answer here! The truth is just as bad as any lie he can muster! Robin’s cold silence after he said what he said, it made things worse. Why isn’t she yelling or threatening or something? Just a word would be preferable to the science. He took a deep breath and said "I didn't...want to risk things. I chose the default setting on you because I think you're perfect the way you are." Robin paused a bit at that then got angry again, if she's so perfect why does he have a kill switch installed in her? "However, this is a lot to take in, and a lot to process, and you're very good at punishing those who wrong you." which Robin paused thinking about Spadam, Tobi Roppo, and various others. Kyle wasn't wrong but still, it did little to temper the archeologist's fury. The only thing it did was make her not want to mame him, so there's that. Kyle was sensing her hostility still as Robin crossed her arms awaiting whatever crazy excuse he'd come up with. He let out two words after a moment of silence saying "I'm sorry, I should have known better. Just know, it was never my intention to ever hold this over you. Honestly I'm buying a safe and locking the remote to activate the termination chip in there." Robin looked at as he said "And the only one who will know the combination will be you, not me." which got Robin to double take.

Robin had to ask "Why only me?" as Kyle rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. She took a deep breath and said "That's a lot of trust you're placing in someone you have only read about in stories and have only met for half a day." Kyle nodded for seemingly no reason but she knew it was a sign that he was put all of his trust in her. She had to admit to herself that after a lifetime as being seen as untrustworthy, it was nice to meet someone who trusted her completely. She took a deep breath and said "Fine, I'll forgive you this once is you follow through on your promise," she asked looking at the non-history books "What's this?" which were a bunch of internet tutorials.

Kyle sighed saying "Nico Robin, allow me to personally introduce to the wonder and horrors of the internet." which got Robin to pause, but also to kind of laugh at what he said. She started to relax a little, taking into account her being a pirate and him being just a guy who wanted a friend, and clearly still was that guy. Perhaps this won't be as bad as she thought...
