A Galaxy too far

"Quick! How much longer until we reach the hospital?" Mike yells at you as he shakes your shoulder.

As you barrel down the highway, weaving in and out of cars, you look into the backseat and see Devin **** on his own blood.

He is holding a number of napkins against his open neck wound but they don't seem to be doing the trick.

You turn to Mike and shout: "I'm going as fast as I can! Just a couple more minutes I swear!"

As the rain pours down onto the windshield, you hope and pray that the hospital comes soon enough.

"Please Devin just hold on! I swear it is only a couple more minutes! Please just...."

Silence.

Then a blinding light.

Time seems to have slowed down all around you or even stopped. Glass shatters and slowly drifts through the air all around you.

The highway is gone now. Your two friends are just relics of the past. The car has even morphed away into oblivion.

Darkness. A cold chill in the air but other than that nothing. You are just a spectator in an endless black void of nothingness.
