Chapter 250 by Fantasy Fantasy

What's next?

Intermission - Growing intimate.

“...So my friend is still pretty mad at me.” Maria laughed. Her cheeks were tinted red due to the wine. Her second glass was empty, but with only a bit left on the bottle, she poured half of it on her glass and the other half on Thomas’.

“You two are fighting?” he asked, taking a sip.

“Jokingly mad, I mean. I managed to open my coffee shop before she could open her bar. She’ll get there soon, I bet, but it’s one thing I can hold over her. She always beat me at everything, so this tastes especially sweet.”

She was beaming. Two glasses of wine may not have been enough for her to get drunk, but they were enough to get her tipsy and in a great mood, apparently. The appetizers Maria had brought were mostly gone already.

Thomas listened and laughed. “Beat you at what? Sports? Grades?”

“Yes to both. She always got better grades than me, and she’s more athletic than she looks..” She pouted. “Still can’t believe she’s stuck in such boring jobs. She’s a manager at a small supermarket and a cashier at a hotel in her spare time. She’s way too smart for stuff like that.”

She frowned, puckering her lips and leaned her head on Thomas’ shoulder. His heart skipped a beat, his body tensing, but Maria didn’t seem to think too much of it.

“Maybe if my shop keeps doing well, I’ll be able to give her a hand.”

“You’ll need to give Oliver more shifts,” Thomas joked.

Maria laughed. “I’ve considered it, but I bet his girlfriends would have my hide if I took more of his time.”

“That’s… possible.” Thomas chuckled nervously. Those girls could be scary when they wanted to.

Maria sighed. She spun the glass on her hand, letting the last bit of wine swirl inside before she drank it. Thomas also drank the last of his own glass and set it down next to Maria’s.

An odd silence settled between them, a silence of… contemplation. Maria was still leaning against him, head on his shoulder. What was she thinking about, Thomas wondered. He also wondered what he should do now. There was something he wanted to do, or at least somewhere he wanted things to go, but maybe this much was enough for tonight? So far, this was a good first date, right? Talking together, laughing, sharing stories… A first date rarely ended with sex, right? But somehow, the thought of leaving it like this felt… wrong.

“Sorry for getting all quiet,” Maria said, sighing contently. “This feels nice.” She snuggled closer, her thigh pressed against his.

An invitation. An obvious invitation.

Thomas sneaked a steady arm behind and around her waist, confidently pulling her closer. Oliver’s words echoed in his head. Maria wanted him here, she had to like him on some level. She didn’t say yes out of pity for him.

“It does. Can we stay like this for a little while?”

“You don’t need to leave yet, do you?” Maria asked, looking up at him.

“I can stay for a while longer, if it’s not a bother.”

Maria leaned in and kissed his jaw. His heart nearly stopped. She put a hand on his knee and snuggled closer. “Don’t leave yet.”

God, when was the last time he felt butterflies in his stomach? When was the last time he shared this kind of intimate closeness with someone?

“Can I ask something awkward?” Maria said. Thomas nodded. “I overheard you and Oliver talking about your ex-girlfriend. She broke up with you, right? Why was that?”

Thomas tensed up, but couldn’t blame her for being curious. “I’m still not entirely sure. I still believe she never truly liked me like I did her. On top of that, we weren’t… compatible. Physically.”

Maria looked at him apologetically. “Sorry. That was out of line. I think the wine got to me.”

Thomas shook his head. “It’s fine. It’s not like I want to hide it. It’s just an uncomfortable memory.”

Maria cupped his cheek and turned his head so that he’d meet her eyes. She looked serious. “I should’ve refused. Something between us would be… complicated. I should’ve politely rejected you.” Thomas began to feel his heart sinking, but then… “But I couldn’t. I couldn’t resist this… this…” This what? Maria sighed and kissed his jaw again. “I want to see where it goes.”

Thomas felt a bonfire light in his chest, a bonfire that had long been waiting for the lightest spark.

He closed his eyes and kissed her on the lips. Maria didn’t move away. Instead, she reciprocated, cupping his cheek and planting more kisses on him. They sent little shocks of pleasure all over him in ways he never had felt. What would it feel like if they deepened it?

Thomas held her closer and probed her lips with his tongue. Maria let him in, and when she did, it was like she melted in his arms. She let out a soft, drawn out moan into Thomas’ mouth. Their tongues intertwined, dancing their very first dance together. Thomas’ head was spinning. A kiss had never felt this good, had never felt so right.

Time flew by them. How long did they make out for? Neither knew. The only reason they pulled away was to examine the other’s face, to ask the silent question that needed an immediate answer.

Maria was the one to answer first. She set her hand on Thomas’ thigh, caressing dangerously close to his crotch. Thomas brushed Maria’s collarbone with the back of his fingers, carefully sneaking them under the collar of her puffy blouse.

Maria swallowed. “...I don’t know if we should be going so fast.”

“We can stop if you want to.” Those words, Thomas knew, he said out of politeness, because it was the right thing to say. In truth…

“I don’t want to stop,” Maria whispered, voicing his own thoughts.

Thomas dove in to plant fierce kisses on Maria’s neck as his hands went from holding her to cupping her breasts.

Maria yelped in excited surprise, dropping all pretenses and letting him play with her tits while she rubbed his crotch over his pants. Then, as his erection grew, she gasped.

Thomas’ heart froze. Maria was tracing a finger along his length for confirmation. His dick was only half-hard, but it was running down his left thigh. His mouth went dry.

“Oh my God, Thomas…!”
