Onward!

With that, you return to the present. You do not know what caused the shockwave that woke you up earlier. But it was definitely caused by something. That means your life could be in danger.

Naked as you are, you jump up from the bed, and run to the cockpit as fast as your legs could carry you. But once you arrive, you just stand there, taken aback by the sight of a ship heading towards you.

"Um, Elena... What is that thing?" you ask, keeping your gaze at the demon. Thin frame, armored front, four engines on the sides for quick maneuvers, accompanied by a giant gun at the nose of he vessel. Definitely not something you want to have a shootout with!

"It looks like a zetan vessel," Elena answers, reading the data just gathered by the systems. "They've used some sort of device to overload our FTL drive. We could still fire up the backup. Thing is: they could also repeat their trick. So we will have to deal with them first if we ever want to get out of here."

"Well, that might be a bit of a problem," you add, taking another glance at the enormous gun at the nose of the vessel. One direct hit from that thing, and you are dead, regardless of the point of impact.

"Any idea who they are?" you turn back to Elena.

"Well, I don't think pirates tend to play too often with this sort of technology. So I'm guessing this is a patrol vessel. They want to get us for breaching their territory."

All we ever needed! you think to yourself.

You start to look for alternatives, but then a blip appears on Elena's console, accompanied by the usual sound.

"They are hailing us," Elena says.

"I know. Connect us already."
