At the Wedding Pt 11
"Everything okay?"
Willow smiled at Kali. "Just fine," she said.
Kali nodded her head. She didn't really believe her but wasn't going to argue the point. The girls were trying to cheer Walt up from not murdering the awful rude photographer who'd put him in a 'mood'... Walt hated rude people. She grinned. "Great can you help me?"
Willow nodded. "Sure Kali."
"Oh good!" Kali said setting Willow's glass down she'd been staring into and practically threw her into Walt's arms. "You two go dance! Don't come back until you're really smiling!"
"Kali!" They both said in unison making a couple giggle at them. Kali simply waved smiling.
Walt shrugged. "Well I guess we got our marching orders. Care to dance?"
Willow smiled slightly as he offered her his arm. "I suppose," She said. She followed him out onto the dance floor. They started waltzing. "You're still tense. Relax, Walter."
Walt nodded trying to shake it off. "I know. I just can't often abide rudeness. Sorry." He tried to shake it off.
Willow looked thoughtful. "You were fine in the beginning. It wasn't his rudeness to you that was upsetting was it? It was when he was rude to all of us ladies wasn't it?"
Walt chuckled. "That obvious? Well... you're not wrong. I don't mind low class or no class truthfully. But rude is something else all together. It's one thing if a person has those thoughts... it's another entirely to voice them. That shows a general disrespect and disregard of others that's intolerable and one shouldn't abide."
Willow smiled. "You're qouting someone aren't you?"
Walt smiled. "Yeah. My grandfather. He was a real stickler about certain courtesies and respect for all. Of course he was prickly as a cactus and had funny notions about those respects and courtesies. He couldn't stand bad service either. Got us in trouble a few times."
Willow smiled. "Well now that sounds intriguing! Give me an example of "bad service" and him "causing trouble"?"
Walt smiled. "Well... there was the time he got in trouble for discharging his weapon in public killing a coffee urn one time."
Willow blinked. "He didn't?"
Walt nodded. "He sure as shootin' did. I'd gotten leave from the army for the holidays and in those days the nearest major airport was a drive. I'd told him I'd take the bus but he'd insisted on driving down. Said me wasting a precious day waiting around a bus terminal instead of being with family was ridiculous. Anyway sure enough the old bucket of bolts he was driving developed trouble on the way home so we had to pull into a mechanics shop."
Willow shook her head. "Don't tell me he threatened the mechanic?"
Walt shook his head. "Nope. He was a bice fellah from what I remember but the fix was a troublesome one and gonna take time. He told him we'd wait in the dinner down the way but the mechanic recommended we eat somewheres else. The mechanic was right."
Willow could already guess the story now. "Oh no..."
"Oh yes," Walt said. "Our first clue should have been that the place was empty. We ordered coffee and a sandwich to split. The coffee was the kind that got poured in this old-fashioned metal urn with spigots to keep it hot. Well we got our coffee and despite being the only customers it still took the fellah about twenty minutes to make our sandwich and get us a refill. Constantly on the phone the whole time. I guess he was too cheap to hire a cook or staff... or maybe that's who he was talking too on the phone? Anyway the general mark of decent service is they fill your cup at least three times."
Willow smiled. "And you'd had two."
"Yep," Walt said. "I told him we should leave but he said we were stuck waiting on the new radiator anyway. Fellah'd walk by on the phone and we'd raise our cups. He walk back past on the phone and we'd lower 'em. Up. Down. Up. Down. Up. Down. I started to feel like I was still on base saluting superior officers passing by."
Willow laughed. "How long did that go on?"
Walt grinned. "Awhile. After the tenth time Gramps reached down, pulled out his gun and shot the coffee urn. He grabbed my cup and stuck it in the stream of coffee that came pouring out, passed it to me and did the same with his cup while the guy finally hung up the phone to call the police."
Willow started laughing as they started drawing looks from the people around them. Walt smiled. He loved her laugh and seeing her smile.
"What happened then?" She asked still giggling.
Walt shrugged. "The cop, once I convinced him I wasn't going to give grandfather back his gun until we left town, wasn't too surprised and fairly understanding. Long story short we could go to jail or I could buy the guy a new coffee urn. I opted to buy the coffee urn since I'd already bought a radiator."
Willow blinked. "Wait... is that what that big thing in the kitchen is with the patch job?"
Walt nodded. "He made me grab it from the dumpster when the guy pitched it. He thought it was unreasonable I'd had to pay for a new one. A "travasty of justice". He had someone he knew patch the durn thing and kept it telling my grandmother we bought it "used"."
Willow laughed some more. "No wonder you still have it! Who could bare to part with a story like that!"
Walt laughed. "Yeah, that's exactly it! Everytime I think about getting rid of it I just can't!"
Willow smiled. "Thank you, Walt"
Walt blinked. "I'm not sure what for but your welcome, Willow."
Willow smiled at him. "Thank you for caring how we and others are treated. Thank you for making me laugh and smile. Thank you for being a sentimental fool."
Walt lifted her chin. "Hey now... you're not some beat up piece of kitchen wear that needs fixing. It's not sentiment that makes me keep you. You're special to me. I love making you laugh. I love seeing you smile. I love holding you, talking with you, sharing my life with you. I love you, Willow."
Her eyes started to get misty as he kissed her. "I love you too. You know... this is the first wedding I've truly been happy to attend in a longtime because of you. Thank you for that, Walt."
He smiled and whispered in her ear. "Honestly? It's the same for me... because of you and the others. Thank you for everything, Willow." He smiled and winked. "That's the best part of our little arrangement. I was always happiest when I was married."
Willow smiled sadly. "Not me but I wish I had been. I'm sure James, Starfire and Ailita will be happy though. Too bad we missed the grand entrance."
Walt blinked. "Grand Entrance? When was that? Anyway not important right now... that's not what I meant, Willow."
Willow blinked and thought about his words and what she'd missed. She gasped. "Walter!" Willow looked at him stunned and almost missed a step. "Please don't joke about-"
"I would never," he said. "I'm not saying we have to... or that it'd be anything like all of this, unless you wanted. Not my style... but... well I've already begun thinking about yall that way anyway in my heart and that's all that matters to me. There's no pressure either- whoa!"
Willow hugged him. "You... you're too wonderful, you know that? I-I don't know if I want... that. But knowing you feel even a little bit that way-"
He hugged her back. "There's no "little bit" about it! I feel that way. And it just grows stronger and stronger by the day. Even if we never make it official... may I continue to treat you like a "wife"?"
Willow nods happily. She can have a new "happily ever after" after all! She finally met her prince. She sees the others at the table smiling at them. Kali and Penny and Sienna and all of them are happy seeing them happy together and... she shakes her head. "You can't... you can't marry me or treat me as a "wife", Walt... not unless-"
Walt nodded. "Understood and accepted. I already feel that way too... but it makes me even happier that you do too."
Willow grinned. "You know you're pretty incredible... but "we" might just be your biggest challenge yet, Mister!"
Walt chuckled. "Ain't that the truth! But... I will do anything to make you all happy regardless."
Willow smiled happily as he wiped away a tear for her. "Then... please do... treat me... no, please continue to treat us like your "wives" you wonderful man... so we can treat you like a "husband"... I want that very much..."
Walt nodded and kissed her. "Yes, darling. I'll do my best to make you happy... all of you."
Willow smiled. "Then... would you hear my next request?"
Walt nodded. "Of course!"
Kali smiled watching them come back from the dance floor with genuine smiles. "That's better." They both approached her and kissed her cheek. "Oh what's that for?"
Willow grins helping Kali from her seat as Walt pulled out her chair before Willow pushed her into Walt's arms. "Your next!"
"What? But-"
"No buts," Walt said leading her put onto the dance floor. "Husbands prerogative!"
Kali stared and stumbled her way into catching up with the dancing. "What? You're not making sense? What do you mean-"
Walt kissed her. "I know I can act it at times but I'm generally not a fool, Kali." He touched her grey armband. "You stopped wearing purple and started wearing grey like the others."
Kali blushed. "I-I-"
Walt grinned. "I do," He simply said.
Kali blinked. "You... do?"
Walt kissed her again putting tenderness into it. "I do," he repeated. "Help me pick something black to wear?"
Kali nodded and kissed him back. "I will!" She happily danced with him about the dance floor. "How long...?"
Walt chuckled. "Have I known? Awhile... I have been trying to go slowly but I think I'm done with "slow" for awhile. Because I don't want that... and you and the others certainly don't want that apparently so... I'm all in! I do."
"You knew... and you didn't... you were holding back... you... stubborn, infuriating-"
"Don't forget mule headed," he added helpfully, smiling.
"Mule headed!" She said taking a breath looking into his eye's. "Sweet... caring..."
"Wonderful?" He asked.
She nodded. "That too but I was going to say "loving", Man." She laid her head on his chest. "I do too... I love you." She looked around the wedding venue. "Do you want something like this? I know humans have their important rituals."
Walt shook his head. "Don't need it. Far as I'm concerned we already done the important bit. It's whatever you want... what's important to you?"
She shook her head then smiled as he reached up stroking her ear as she listened to his heartbeat. "That's how it is for Faunus too. We never developed the complicated rituals of humans until much later. Traditionally we're half-wed now until..."
"Until?" Walt asked as she'd gotten very quiet.
"... until... you do... what you said you would someday..." she whispered.
Walt nodded. "Oh! Is that so? Alright. Shall we get started right now?" He started looking around. "There's a coat check area or maybe behind that pile of tribute, I mean gifts or I could ask Chuck and Dee if we could borrow a guest house. God knows I'm pretty sure they conceived several of the kids out to the ranches cabin-"
"Don't tease me ple-"
"I'm dead serious," he whispered into her ear. "I don't know if a human can normally impregnate a Faunus but I will find a way. I'm going to get you pregnant, Kali... and I don't intend to stop at one. I'm sorry but now that you told me that I'm going to breed you so hard you better clear your damn schedule for the next couple of years, momma."
Kali swallowed rubbing her scent into his chest. "I... I'll hold you to that... poppa!" He started leading her away. "What are you looking for now? No wait... Walter! You can't be serious... now?!"
"Right now!" He growled. "I know! The damn Canyonero! Big enough to have a roman orgy in there-"
"Walter!" She said. "You can't! Not right now." He'd stopped. "I... I know you mean that... and I want that! I really do... but 'now' isn't the time or the place...and I don't just mean the wedding... not when there's so much going on."
Walt nodded. "Alright... I understand."
Kali smiled up at him. "After... when your investigations are done... when there's fewer distractions we can..."
Walt nodded again and took her in his arms. "It's a promise then... I want that. I want to raise a child with you, my love. Our child."
Kali swallowed. "I want that too... and hearing you say that really gets me in the mood... but there's something else..." she looks twords their group. "Something just as important."
Walt nodded smiling. "Willow said almost the exact same thing and I agree."
Kali grinned. "Did she? That's interesting... maybe you should knock her up too? " She felt his erection start to build. "Would you like that? Knock us all up? Make us all your "mate-wives"? See us all with swollen bellies? Sweet Penny and petite Neo? Statuesque Pyrrha and fierce Sienna? Acrobatic Ahnassi and lascivious Lita? Or maybe the three little beauties of Ilulu, Raven and Manami? Or perhaps- Mmmmph!"
Walt shut her up with a kiss that left her breathless. *Oh good,* she realized. *It really does turn him on too!*
When he finally broke the kiss he said, "Not... one... more... word... I can't be responsible if you do. Understand?"
She bit her lip sorely tempted to push his resolve... But she simply nodded her head and felt his erection throbing. She nodded back towards their table and he nodded "yes" before slowly dancing that way. They needed a time out before they lost control.
Willow grinned at the two of them. "Oh dear... naughty Kali!"
Walt nodded. "You have no... no, actually knowing you two you can guess."
They all grin then break out into laughter. Walt gulped down the ice water, crunching the cubes of ice and waved over a waiter with a pitcher. He needed a refill... immediately!
