a maze, some gold, a gobelin

She starts a new day and makes a prayer.

again she sends word upwards but no answer

the silence decrease her morale, but she tries to get her mind up, and starts the day.

Ambriel wanders the forest as usual. cherub following her. she passes trees and boulders until she notices something strange. she had followed the paths made by animals and others, but by now she is sure that she passed this very spot a few times. it seems she is in some kind of magical maze

Ambriel had heard of maze, so she decides to try some wisdom learn.

She makes a mark on a boulder to be sure recognized if she walk again by it. Then she cautionly walk forward looking for signs of illusions or of magic.

after a while she comes across her mark again. it seems she walked in a circle

she chooses to try another technical way, but first she need to analyse the ground.

the ground is muddy, partially covered with moss. it should be easy to draw a continuous line in it (modifié)

Ambriel use her longsword to draw a line on the ground, checking if/when she'll meet her own line again

it takes some minutes before she crosses her line

just to be sure, Ambriel went back, to see if she circle again

the maze seems not a magical trap but some elaborate physical trick played on the senses. it seems figuring it out is the key

so Ambriel touch the rightside wall with her sword and follow the rightside path each time

with her plan and smartness it takse much more time that she wanted to but Ambriel eventually leaves the maze

"pfiuu... that maze was something... but i have confirmed the wisdom of the legends"

After getting out of the maze, Ambriel goes on.

further on her path Ambriel comes to a shallow but broad river. she can wade through it easily. but as she walks by it she can see something glittering on the river bed. its not a single item, it seems the riverbed is littered with small shiny things

Ambriel knows already that faes could trap people with shiny styff, so she try to check with caution what it could be

the river is full of tiny gold nuggets

As it could be traded, she decides to take some time to gather some nuggets, but not more that she can carry.

Ambriel fills her pockets before anyone else pops up and competes with her

As she has still some heavenly bread and water, she continue the exploration

Ambriel wanders a bit down the stream, only to come across a goblin who is also searching through the river, picking up the gold nuggets. he has a veritable amount already picked, lying on the river bank. he is as surprised as Ambriel, especially since he is naked, his cloth next to the pile of gold

For Ambriel, a lone gobelin shouldn't be a problem, but he might not be really alone, so she kept cautious

"Hello"

"Hello."

"hard working i see. Good luck for moving all that"

he looks over and it dawns on him that he might have too much

"Can you help carry?"

"i am already quite full with my stuff. I can't carry much more. And where would you go?"

"My den. Where i have all my stuff. And make more."

"Sorry little guy, i can't help you."

"Too bad."

he gets out of the water and dressed, before he gathers as much of the gold as he can

"Goodbye."

"Farewell."

and she leaves the little guy on his problem

he leaves as well

the day has been full with adventure, the evening soon will be, so Ambriel make camp
