Meeting Alex

You're enjoying the dreamless sleep of pure exhaustion when you feel a touch on your shoulder gently shaking you. You mumble something incoherent, and the touch shakes you again. "Mmmm, five more minutes."

You hear a voice, "I already gave you five minutes Amber, you need to wake up." When you still don't want up, the voice speaks again. "Amber, Alex's plane has landed."

Oh... OH! You start to slowly sit up, rubbing your eyes. "Ok, ok. I'm up, I'm up." As you slowly wake up you take in your surroundings. You are still sitting on a bench next to Blue near the baggage claim of the Pewter City airport. Rubbing your eyes, you ask "How long ago did he land?"

"About ten minutes ago?" Blue stands up and stretches his back. "So, he should be at the baggage claim soon."

Right, that is why you were here. You stretch as you stand up yourself. To your surprise Blue grabs your hand and starts tugging you along with him as he hurries towards the baggage claim. "Wow, Blue! Slow down!"

Again to your surprise, Blue listens to you and slows down. He is still walking ahead of you and leading you along but now the two of you are simply walking together. Hand in hand.

You look at your joined hands and to your surprise feel a gentle blush on your face. Which is ridiculous. The two of you are married and have fucked like a pair of Bunnelby. Holding hands should be nothing. But as the two of you walk together holding hands you can't stop yourself from blushing as you follow him.

"We're here." You are snapped out of your thoughts by the sound of Blue's voice. Still holding onto his hand you glance at his face and to your surprise you see that he is blushing as well. You grip his hand a little tighter and can't help but smile, knowing that he seems to be reacting just as strangely as you are.

You look around the baggage claim, it doesn't look like many people have arrived yet. "Do you see him Blue?"

"No, but..." Blue goes quite for a moment as he glances at one of the screen displays. "It looks like he should be coming here soon."

Sure enough, a few minutes later a crowd heads their way and they spot a person they recognize from a few pictures Melody had shared with them.

Alex is tall but lanky man who appears to be in his mid-twenties. Dark messy unkempt hair, loose clothing, thick glasses, and the large book he is carrying causes Amber to ask herself a question.

Did Melody marry a Nerd?

The unkempt young man glances around for a bit, obviously looking for something or someone. Guessing that he is looking for you and Blue, you wave at him to get his attention. He notices you and starts heading your way, a Kangaskhan trailing close behind him.

Pushing up his glasses as he speaks, "You must be Amber and Blue." He extends his hand and you reluctantly let go of Blue's hand to grab his. "Alex, but I assume you already know that." after shaking Blue's and your hands he gestures behind him to the Kangaskhan "and this is Nanny."

Nanny is a Kangaskhan which in of itself isn't strange. The only strange thing was that it was out of its PokéBall. Airport staff tended to not like it when Pokémon, especially large ones like a Kangaskhan, were walking about out of their PokéBalls.

You didn't wonder long though, as the answer revealed itself in Kangaskhan's pouch. "Daddy, is mommy here?" Or rather, two somethings, as a pair of heads pop out of the Kangaskhan's pouch.

Sitting inside the Kangaskhan's pouch are the heads of two children, two human children. They have brown hair (which surprises you, considering Melody's vibrant blond hair), but like their mother they have dark tanned skin.

Blue and Alex are making small talk, but you aren't listening, your entire focus on the two small young children in front of you. You knew that Melody had children, she had said so herself. But when their young curious faces look up at you suddenly, they were real.

A lot of things were feeling more real for you over the last few hours...

You feel a hand upon your shoulder and are so startled that you jump a little bit. Only to see that it is Blue, who asks. "You ok Amber? You zoned out for a bit."

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Just tired..." You remove Blue's hand from your shoulder but to your surprise Blue ends up holding onto your hand. Something that you find strangely comforting. Speaking to Alex, "So, how much did you pack?"

"Just our carry on." He pushes his glasses up onto his nose. "Due to the short notice, it seemed prudent to pack as light as possible. "Now, shall we be off? I would rather not dally and head over to the hospital with all haste."

Ignoring Alex's strange choice of words, (who says 'dally'?) "Yeah, we managed to rent a car." Apparently Blue has a driver's license, something else you just found out about your husband.

"Glorious! Let us be off." Alex turns to the Kangaskhan, "Nanny, come." then he starts walking off.

You and Blue give each other a look, with Blue being the one to speak up. "Dude, wrong way."

"Oh yes, of course." Completely non-fussed, Alex turns towards you and Blue. "Lead the way."

Author's Note: Since Alex is supposed to be a "Nerd" I asked myself, how can I make him seem nerdy? So I'm trying to make his speech a little odd.
