The reporter gripped the chair as a sudden vertigo seized her. It hadn't really registered to her while sunk into the gynecologist's chair how her center of gravity had shifted, but now as her ass teetered on the edge and her toes touched the floor, the reporter's eyes finally glanced down at her midsection.

Lois Lane couldn't see her feet.

Her t-shirt had ridden up to just below her breasts, which hadn't grown at all. The reporter's belly was a smooth dome that stretched out in front of her, jutting out further than Lois thought a pregnant woman's should. She looked as if she had swallowed a watermelon whole. Gingerly, Lois touched the skin—and could feel the taut flesh. She pressed gingerly, grimacing. It felt like there was a giant water balloon inside of her.

No wonder I ache, Lois thought. Must have ripped half of my abdominal muscles. How long was I asleep!?

Grimacing in discomfort, Lois leaned forward, striving to find her balance as her heels touched the cold, bare floor. Bent over and still holding onto the arm of the chair, Lois caught her breath. The weight of her gravid abdomen was enormous...it had to be forty pounds. Lois shook her head, not sure how this was possible...and then slowly straightened up. Immediately, muscles in her back began to complain.

She took a cautious step, and then another, finally letting go of the chair. Carefully, in the darkness, Lois carefully made her way, lumbering slowly and awkwardly as she got used to the weight, the lower center of gravity, the weird sense of her belly being so far out in front of her.

It wasn't until Lois reached the doorway that she realized she'd been waddling. Running was straight out of the question. Lois could barely move...and then a new, urgent biological need made itself known.
