Wonder Woman/Storm: Tempests of Themyscira

Ororo Munroe stepped off the boat and out on to the docks of Themyscira, stretching as she surveyed the beautiful island paradise. It was a place that had always intrigued her; an island, populated exclusively by ancient female warriors made famous in Greek mythology was certainly intriguing enough, but after meeting the legendary Wonder Woman during several her adventures with the X-Men, The headmistress of the Xavier Academy found herself more intrigued by the island and its Amazon inhabitants than ever before. Ororo had long had a fondness for strong women, and kind women, and Diana was certainly both; the handful of times they'd spent together in the past, Ororo had sensed a kindred spirit in the Justice League member, and the pair had struck up a friendship both women were eager to cultivate.

So when Professor X requested that Ororo represent the X-Men on Themyscira after they received a request from Queen Hippolyta herself, Ororo was delighted to accept. The opportunity to visit one of the most insular cultures in the world was certainly enticing enough, but adding in the opportunity to spend more time getting to know a woman she respected and admired as much as Diana...it was too good an opportunity to pass up. As Xavier had told it, A young Amazon woman named Aurora had been having visions; the Amazons had determined that those visions were of other universes. It seemed that Aurora had the ability to view alternate versions of herself and anyone near her in other universes. When trying to determine how she was having these visions, the Amazons were shocked to learned that Aurora was carrying the X-Gene; in their history, Amazons had never been known to carry such a gene, making Aurora the first known mutant Amazon. As such, Hippolyta contacted Charles Xavier, who extended an invitation for the young woman to stay at the Xavier Mansion and learn how to control and use her new-found powers. So, a meeting was set up between Hippolyta and the Xavier Academy headmistress to discuss Aurora's future at the Academy.

Ororo graciously thanked the two Amazon women that had ferried her to the island, then turned to see the woman who was to be her liaison on the island; a wide smile formed on her face when she saw that it was Diana there to welcome her. "Wonder Woman. It is good to see you again, my friend."

"Storm. It's always such a pleasure," Wonder Woman responded, embracing Ororo warmly. "When I found you would be visiting Themyscira, I had to personally request the assignment as your liaison."

"I'm happy to hear that," Ororo returned the embrace and stepped back to look the other woman up and down. "You're looking quite lovely, as always."

"As do you, Ororo." With one last embrace, Diana gestured to the path leading off of the dock. "Follow me. The palace isn't far, and my mother is waiting..."

They chatted as they made the journey, catching each other up on their recent exploits and personal lives; it was clear that there was a genuine, mutual connection between them, their conversation easily shifting between small talk and meaningful discussion. Diana pointed out several points of interest during their walk, places that she hoped to show to Ororo over the course of the X-Woman's stay.

"That's Sappho Hall over there. And it's about a five minute walk to Sun Bath Beach... a personal favorite spot on the island," Diana smirked. "Perhaps tomorrow I could show it to you."

"It definitely sounds appealing," Ororo smiled back. "My duties as headmistress at the academy have kept me quite busy as of late. Some downtime here would be very welcome."

Diana smiled in understanding. "With any luck, your business here won't take up too much time, and you'll be able to really relax during the rest your stay."

"If that's the case, I certainly hope I can count on your company," Storm replied as her smile became more of a flirtatious smirk. The mutual attraction between the two was undeniable, but for one reason or another, they had never had the opportunity to explore any sort of relationship beyond that of superhero colleagues.

"I'd love nothing more than to spend the week getting to know you better," Diana replied as they arrived at the palace. She had definitely sensed the vibes between the two, and it absolutely delighted her -- still, she had to wonder if their lifestyles would align. For as well as they got along, Diana knew very little about Ororo's love life. Diana enjoyed a number of romantic and sexual relationships with other women, many of whom she loved deeply; how the Headmistress felt about such things wasn't clear to her yet. Still, Diana felt there was certainly potential for a very deep and meaningful romance with Ororo, considering their already powerful connection. "So let's hopefully conclude our business swiftly, so we can turn our focus to... pleasure."

Ororo smiled, quickly picking up on what Diana was implying. "Agreed. Now, shall we?" she asked, gesturing into the palace. Diana and Ororo made their way to the throne room, where Hippolyta and Aurora were waiting. Ororo and Aurora exchanged pleasantries, and the discussion began.
