What About the Last Challenger?

You always considered yourself a patient man. You could have challenged the Pewter City Gym earlier, but you didn’t feel the need to rush. After all, the Gym wasn’t going anywhere, and you were enjoying life. There were always new places to go, sights to see, new Pokemon to train, new women to fuck. Besides, you enjoyed taking your time. Whether it was battling, training, breaking in a new sex-****, or just fucking. The build-up, the anticipation, that was what you enjoyed.

You were a journey not destination kind of guy.

That was until you found out that SHE had challenged the Gym. Sure, she lost. But she wasn’t supposed to be here in the first place. It went against her pattern, what she was supposed to be doing.

When she earned her 2nd badge, she got married and took a break. When she started again, she traveled just long enough to earn her 4th badge. She was supposed to repeat the pattern and stop at her 6th. That is what she was SUPPOSED TO DO!

You and your Self-Proclaimed Rival even had a system. When she earned her 2nd, you had your 3rd a few weeks later. When she took a break after earning her 4th, you had your 5th a few months later. After Melody had won her 6th, you had planned on taking it easy for a few months until going for your 7th. You had even bought tickets for a cruise ship destined for Alola.

But then that BITCH had gone ahead and challenged Brock ahead of schedule. She had tried to get ahead of you! By doing so she ruined your plans. Instead of being on a tropical beach you were in this fucking city!

But the sun would die before you let Melody have more badges than you.

Which is why you found yourself in Pewter City and challenging Brock for your 7th Badge. You didn’t want to be here, but there was no avoiding it now.

It was bad enough that she would be tied with you, but you would be cold and buried if you were going to let her have 7 badges to your 6.

Still, when you watched Melody challenge Brock, you had to admit she wasn’t half bad. But it was obvious to you why it took her multiple tries to defeat Brock.

You know you would not need multiple tries.

The true highlight of your day though was the hilarious sight of not only seeing Melody’s water break in the middle of the battle but watching her punch out the camera man. You were laughing so hard that you had trouble breathing. Watching her waddle out of the gym, barely able to walk due to the pain she was in, was just icing on the cake.

It almost made up for the fact that your vacation plans had been ruined. Almost.

You are taken out of your thoughts by the sound of the loudspeakers turning on. “Sorry for the wait folks. But the wait is worth it as we have one more aspiring challenger who seeks to earn their 7th Badge! Richard of Fuchsia City”

Oh good, it was finally your turn. You stand up, grabbing the leashes for your two pets as you make your way to the battle stage.

“Time to put on a show.”
