Getting some help?

Kazuma sat in the cell, fuming. Sena had told him that they would be talking tomorrow before she decided whether or not to take this case to trial. This was so not right! He doubted he would get a fair trial. After all, this was a world with kings and nobles and the like. This lord probably had the power to put him to death, no questions asked!

"Hey, get in there!" one the guards shouted, and Kazuma looked up to see Dust being pushed into the cell.

"I gotcha, I gotcha, don't rush me!" Dust told the guard amicably.

"Sheesh! How many times we gotta throw you in here!? Anyway, you have a cellmate today, so try not to kill each other, got it!?" the guard demanded.

"Yeah, sure, yessir," Dust said carelessly, before noticing Kazuma. "...oh, if it isn't Kazuma?" he chuckled. "Let me guess, you're in here because you took the fall for something one of your party members did?"

"Not... Exactly," Kazuma deadpanned, before explaining what happened to Dust.

"Pffht, bwahahahahaha, nice one! That lord is a real asshole!"

"It's not funny Dust!" Kazuma growled. "I wasn't targeting the guy, but now I might face the death penalty over this! What're you even in here for, anyway?"

"Oh, I didn't get that much from the Destroyer battle, so instead of splurging, I thought I'd cause some trouble to come here and have some free food and bed!" Dust laughed. "Plus, the debt collectors don't come knocking here!"

"...so you're a regular huh?" Kazuma deadpanned.

That night, when Kazuma was about to fall asleep, he heard a voice over at the window. "Psst, Kazuma!" He looked up at the barred window to see Aqua there.

"Aqua? The hell are you doing here?" Kazuma asked groggily.

"I'm here to bust you out!" she huffed. "Though for the record, it's not because I'm afraid of what revenge you might take on me or anything!"

"Sure it's not..." Kazuma deadpanned.
