Bite & Bear Down

Pushing was no easy feat. Despite the pain reducing potions, AJ's body strenuously began to bear down. She was gritting her teeth so hard that her mother had to intervene.

"Bite down."

She urged her daughter, offering her a rolled up leather strap. AJ sunk her teeth into it, biting hard and clutching on to both of her knees as she pushed. Tears rolled down her cheeks and her pained cries muffled through the leather strap she was biting down onto.

"Sounds like a hefty piece of work to push out that thing."

Silas grimaced, pacing back and forth in front of the tent. He worried about her. He would die for sure this time if his second mate didn't survive childbirth. He would off himself. He couldn't survive another loss.

Inside the tent, a head began to crown and AJ's pained groans resonated deeper as she panted through it before being allowed to push again.

Midway through the next push, the shoulders were born and the body followed relatively quickly. But to their surprise, it wasn't a little centaur baby that was born, it was a human female with snowy white hair and icy blue eyes. She cried loudly as she was brought into the world and AJ reached for her desperately, sweat laden and wanting her baby close to her.
