You walk to the alleyway next to the bakery. There’s barely anything here that can help you,but you’re not any ordinary person. You activated your demon eye found minor traces of mana,normally,magic that enhances the user’s sensitivity to mana can also do the same,but your demon eye can see the type of magic that was casted.

It’s illusion spell and a spell that you’re familiar with,influence,though the caster tried to hide it by sacrificing the effect of the magic to reduce the density of mana,but your eyes are just built different.You followed the trail and it eventually leads you to a tavern,the sign said close. You cracked the lock with a really thin tentacle.

Inside,it is empty,no one is in there. But you heard footstep,you try to find cover,but can’t find any. So you casted the stealth spell you copied from the assassins,combined with illusion spell for you and Serana. The bartender sits behind the bar counter and starts to do accounting. Suddenly,someone opened the door,the bartender eyed him. It is your average-looking man carrying a bag of something.

“You should really lock your door,also,why is the door knob sticky”

The man asked while cleaning his right hand with a handkerchief

“Maybe you should stop complaining so much and shut the fuck up”

The bartender said calmly

Current thought : I wasn’t sure I locked the door or not

The god eye skill is pretty op,you can basically see everything you want to see. But the important thing is that you are lucky the bartender can’t recall whether he closed the door or not,otherwise it could raise their alarm.

The man turned around to lock the door,then he walks to the bartender.

“How is that girl,I believe her name is Ame?”

The man asked the bartender.

“She’s just sobbing in her little cage,but she will do fine”

“Is that so?”

The man walked through the doorway behind the bar counter,you and Serena followed him. The back room of the bar is the kitchen,there’s also a stairway leading to the basement. The man walks into the basement and pulled one of the candle stand to reveal a secret passage way. Before the man enters,he opens the bag he was carrying to reveal a cloak and a mask,he wears it and head into the hidden room. You and Serana followed behind.

After going through a bunch of doors and hallways,both of you reach a room that looks like some kind of ceremonial chamber. The guy in the middle,who you believed to be the leader of these people judging by his unique mask design.

“Fellow brothers and sisters!Our lord has demanded another soul of young to its domain!”

He sounds like a cultist proselytizing people,oh wait,no,he is a cultist.

“By sacrificing them,we shall strengthen it so that it has enough power to escape the void and end this godforsaken war!”

“Demons will no longer attack us!Children will no longer be send to war by those war mongering priest!”

“It shall become the slayer of both light and the dark!Chant its name!Vaelirithia!Vaelirithia!”

You feel a strange presence of power floating through this room,it’s like mind magic,but not exactly magic,more like someone’s mind trying to invade you without mana. You shield you and Serana from this madness.

“Now let us begin the sacrifice!Bring her out!”

Two cloaked person brought out a tied up girl. She’s yelling and crying,begging for them to release her. Ah,that must be Ame,you might have to act fast to stop this,otherwise she will become the bride of some eldritch horror.

They brought Ame to the middle of the room. She’s wearing one of those lace dress for nightwear,it reveals her entire back,there are several wounds on her back. The wounds are closed by the blood and thus possess an unholy dark red color. The wound is carved into the shape of an aura. You activated your god eye.

Aura of Offering : This aura is carved into the body of being with soul to be used as offering and sacrifice when they die. The process is rather painful,as it involves the carver performing on the victim without anesthetic. The aura eats the pain and misery of the victim to give itself the magic property required to manipulate soul.

You don’t know why but you’re feeling a bit of sympathy for her. However,you have to save the girl fast as the atmosphere of the ceremony is going stupidly high. You summoned your bow and arrows from your domain,you draw the bow and aim for the unholy pastor in the middle. You released the arrow and it flies straight to the pastor’s head. Killing him in mere seconds. Ame took this chance and escaped from the cultist amidst the chaos. You want to chase her but the other cultists notice you and draw their weapons

You ordered Serana to cover you while you support her. You want to practice your archery skill today,so she will do the fighting. You draw another arrow and pierced through the neck of a sorcerer constructing a golem.

The fighting goes on,Serana is just chopping people into pieces while you put your sharpened stick into their bodies. Suddenly,your glimpse captured that the pastor you have already killed slowly rises up. The mask covering his face falls off,revealing his lifeless face,you can see a glowing red magical mark on his forehead.

His limbs are starting to twitch and bent in an unnatural direction,his skins are slowly transforming into a black goo-like substance. You casted a highly concentrated magic fire bullet and shoots it at the void monstrousity but it just ricocheted upon contacting his skin.Serana tries to chop it like she’s holding a katana,but the hardened goo is way too strong for her to slice through.

What should you do to defeat this abomination?
