Begin

You started off with role call and once that was down you took them out to the basketball courts. They were rather loud but they still listened to you.

You started running them through Ms Clemons drills. Thankfully they had already done this before. Everyone’s attention was grabbed by a group of girls approaching the courts. Seniors. You couldn’t help but chuckle when you noticed the boys in your class begin trying harder. Attempting to shoot from further one even aiming from half court.

You made sure to get everyone focused on the class though and began to get them into team exercises to develop passing and posItioning.

The seniors then pulled out a couple of netballs in the court over from you and began practicing, it was now that you paid them mine and realised that was Sydney’s group, luckily she didn’t seem to be there. You did notice her friend though, Sherry.

You returned to your lesson and kept your class focused on the drills and exercises that Ms Clemons had planned out.

The next set of drills were all to improve their shooting. You stood beside the hoop and watched your class, coaching and praising them as you saw them improving.

A shorter, skinny boy threw the ball and it fell short allowing you to catch it easily. “Hey sir! Can you hit a three pointer?” Tyler one of the taller more athletic boys asked. Everyone paused and looked at you.

You looked around and smiled. “I’ll give it a shot.” You walked the ball over to the three point line, bouncing it occasionally. Once you began to prep for the shot you realised everyone was watching. Even Sherry and the girls. They all began encouraging you. You jumped and pushed the ball, it flew across and went through the net making everyone erupt in cheers.
