Chatting with her new friend + An Odd Encounter

After you both finish cleaning the dishes, you both have some free time on your hands. "Hey, I got a question. Why are you in the middle of Viridian Forest?" Shauna asks you, as she's curious more about you. "Oh, I started my Pokémon journey yesterday." You reply to her. "Is Eevee your starter? Does that mean the Wurmple is the one you caught?" She continues to ask. "Yeah, the Eevee was given from Professor Oak since someone stole the original last starter. I caught Wurmple in Route 22." You reply to her before continuing. "I want to be the champion of a region. This is why I start my journey." You say to her before you ask her. "What about you?"

"My Pikachu is my starter Pokémon that my mother gives to me. She's the former top Pokémon Coordinator." She tells you before continuing. "My goal is to follow my mother's shadow and become the greatest Pokémon Coordinator." "Wait, what is a Pokémon Coordinator." You tell her, as you are curious.

"Pokémon Coordinator is a person who raises a Pokémon to compete in Pokémon Contests by feeding them snacks to enhance their appearance and teaching them moves designed for particular appeal." She tells you.

"Pokémon Contests are one of the types of competition often contrasted with Pokémon battles held in Contest Halls. A Pokémon Contest is divided into two parts. In the first round, called the Performance Stage, Coordinators have their Pokémon performing their moves to showcase their style and skill. The appeals are awarded points by a panel of judges. The coordinators with the highest scores proceed to the next round. The second round is the Battle Stage, in which Coordinators compete in Pokémon battles while continuing to show off their Pokémon's style and skill. Each competition lasts five minutes, and the objective is to decrease the opponent's points. Coordinators lose points when their Pokémon is hit by an attack, when their Pokémon's attack fails, when the opponent's Pokémon performs a particularly appealing move, or when the opponent's Pokémon uses their Pokémon's attack to its own advantage. A battle can also end when one of the Pokémon is fainted. It's called Battle Off by the judges. In this case, the coordinator with the remaining Pokémon is declared the winner." She tells you everything about Pokémon Contests.

"Alright, now I get it." You say to her. Suddenly you two hear rustling sounds in the surrounding bushes. "Huh? What's in that bush." She asks before walking towards the rustling bush, and suddenly she gets hit in the head and falls on her back. "Are you ok?" You ask her as she looks at the Pokémon which attacked her.

You and Shauna both recognize the Pokémon as an Oddish, a Grass/Poison-type Pokémon known for keeping its face buried in the ground, and many trainers and stoners mistake it being a clump of weed. Its jolly nature is easily fooled by other trainers as sometimes they can fight back very well.

"What a cute Pokémon! I want to catch this Pokémon!" She says to herself before looking at her Pikachu confidently. "Let's do this, Pikachu. We're going to catch this one." Shauna confidently exclaims.

The battle between Pikachu and the wild Oddish is about to begin. Pikachu starts things off with Thunder Shock, which Oddish evades, and uses Sweet Scent, which causes Pikachu to be distracted by the sweetness. Then, the Oddish starts to run away in the southern direction. "Oh no! Pikachu! Don't get distracted! We need to go and chase her!" Shauna says before she quickly grabs Pikachu and runs in the southern direction. You immediately start running with her, as you don't want to be left alone. After fifteen minutes of chasing around, Oddish is now at a dead end as it has nowhere to go. "Alright! Pikachu use Thunder Shock again." Shauna says to Pikachu.

Pikachu elegantly jumps and then shoots out a jolt of electricity, which causes Oddish to be surprised and her eyes filled with astonishment. Oddish, however, didn't want to give up easily.

Oddish uses Absorb by jumping into the air and then doing a backflip before launching a nutrient-draining attack. This causes Shauna to be surprised to see how elegant the move is. This makes her realize that Oddish also has the same dream as her.

"Alright then, Pikachu. Thunder Shock one last time!" Shauna tells Pikachu as the Pikachu jumps into the air and shoots another jolt of electricity, which paralyzes the Oddish.

"Now! Pokéball! Go!" Shauna says as she gets out a Pokéball and throws it at the paralyzed Oddish. The ball shakes once, twice, thrice... and finally, the ball slams shut as Shauna catches her first ever Pokémon, an Oddish.

"Congratulations, Shauna!" You exclaim to her as Shauna returns Oddish once again. "I know what you want to be when you just saw Pikachu using Thunder Shock. I will be the best Pokémon Coordinator, and you will be my Pokémon." Shauna tells her newly caught Oddish, which causes Oddish to be happy.

"Pikachu, Oddish. Let's do our very best!" She exclaims, and both of them agree. Suddenly, you and Shauna both see the sunset from above you. The vibrant orange color paired with the golden sunlight rays below you two. "What a gorgeous sunset. It's beautiful seeing it with a lush scenery. It's a shame that we can't see it from above." You said to her as you looked at her from your slate-blue pupils. "Yeah, I agree. We should go back to my log cabin now." Shauna says to you, blushing a bit. You nodded your head a bit before walking back towards her log cabin. After another fifteen minutes of walking, you two got to Shauna's log cabin on time before the sun was fully set.

PurpleJade: Hello, everyone. It's me, PurpleJade. I'm finally back. I didn't know that I got 100 likes until making of this story since I was busy during August. Thanks for all of your support, it's because of you I can still have the motivation to create them. I will continue to move on the story forward, and I think I need a few more chapters before getting into Pewter City.

Btw, if you are wondering why the chapter is long, it's a combination of two short chapters, that's why the title name is a bit longer than the usual ones.
