Naja didn't respond right away, the feeling of dread had marked him good. He held onto his mate, nuzzling her face down into her hair, absorbing in her scent in deep breaths.

"It's not that I don't love them, it's simply in my instincts to get rid of them."

He muttered coldly, his arms tighten around his lover. When it came to Aki, he was highly territorial. It's bad enough he couldn't keep the other mates away, and once the mating process is done, it can't be helped.

"Like my father and his father and so on. It's passed down that the male children will stalk out their mom and attempt to make her their mate. Every single one of them. So to protect our mate, we drive them away while keeping our line strong, plain as that."

When described, it may or may not sound false. Possibly some ancestor snakemen felt greedy and wanted to keep the mate to themselves. Forcing their young to believe this nonsense and had it passed down over and over again. Now most snakemen currently believe what Naja had explained out as it gets passed down by a small venomous bite.

Naja narrowed his gaze at the house they've made together, he let out a soft sigh drifting in his thoughts.

"At this point, I don't know to believe it or not. They aren't acting out yet. I'm prepared to kill them once they do... "

He muttered out, it could be seen that it was breaking him on the inside.

"That's why I'm not too close to them... I'm sorry Aki.."
