Mates For Life

"Us males and unae only mate once for life.... if you were to get pregnant with other tribes and birth their cubs, but then refuse to keep the male or unae you had mated with, the children would be abandoned, the male or unae would slowly die and this would cause unnecessary war."

Kuro grumbled with a faint growl. His sons didn't like the sound of his growling and began to whimper, so he began licking them till their fur was shiny and slick and they calmed down.

"Let us wait until the next full moon and then go. By then the cubs will be walking around and easier to travel with."

Ajda said calmly, her eyes wandering to the newborn cubs lovingly. They weren't her own, but her mate still created them. So she would protect them wholeheartedly as well.
