Gift Ideas

I get to my first class seconds before the final bell rings. Ms. Robins tells the class to open their math books as I put my head down. I pretend to nap and start thinking. Should I Meditate? No, I have enough Skills and Spells. If I get any more I'll just stop using others like I have been. Maybe I could look through Craft's options? I do have a good variety of materials from the Dungeons. I think before casting Craft and looking through all the options. There are some good ones, but I have better gear now so I don't make any. That and they wouldn't suit Luna or Innu. I could make some for our new Guild members, but they're still in their trial period. They could decide not to join us, or we could decide we don't want them. The bell rings and I get up with a sigh. I leave and go to my history class next. I sit in my seat and Mr. Fields starts the class after the bell rings. I pretend to pay attention while thinking about my Guild. If I were to make anything for my new Guild members, what should I make? It could be a good idea to give them something during the party, or as a welcome gift. Irene uses Ice magic from a distance and switches to a dagger if she has to get close. I think before nearly smacking myself in the forehead. _She could use _Ishlaya's Dagger, the one that boosts all Ice magic cast from it. Hmm, would that be like bribing her though? If I said she can have it as long as she's a member of my Guild? Maybe I can lend it to her on a loan or something? Let her use it while she pays for it, and if she can't then I take it back. I'll have to ask Asami about this. That wouldn't be a good welcome gift though, since I'm sure the others might get upset if they don't get a Mythical item too. So I should make something Rare or Epic for them. But for Marlo, I don't know what I could give him. I know he uses Wind magic and is a Wind Wyvern Hybrid, but that's it. I'll have to wait and see. He'll get here tomorrow, so I'll have time to make him something. He has a wife too, maybe I could get her something? I don't know though... Okay, next is Andrew. He uses a bow with Archery magic. I'm not sure what he'd like. I read that he can use his magic to enhance his arrow's power and make them home in on a target. So maybe an accessory that boosts mana? Or maybe something to help aiming? No not that, it sounded like he has great aim already. He'll be here on Friday, along with the others. So I won't have much time if I want to give these out at Saturday's party. Next is Mavis. She uses Shadow magic to sneak and attack from the shadows. Maybe she could use something to help attack with? Maybe a weapon or something else? A ring? I might be able to make one that could give her attacks poison. God I don't know, I didn't think trying to come up with gift ideas would be this confusing! What about Nick? He uses Earth magic to both attack and defend. So... Fuck! I can't think of something. Chase uses Body magic to strengthen himself. So he could use an accessory that will boost his Strength. Finally, there's Abigal who uses Fire magic. She pointed out that her fire magic has high mana-costing Skills. So she would probably appreciate an item to boost her maximum mana. I think before sighing. I make a mental note to gather these materials before the bell rings. I leave and go to my metalworking class. Mr. Jones starts the class and goes continues the lesson he started last time. He teaches us a new metalworking technique. I can't pretend to pay attention and do something else, since he's constantly checking on us to see if we're paying attention. I listen as he goes over it and wait for the bell to ring. Once it does, I leave and make my way to the roof. I find it unlocked and open it. Myla and Hino are already here and are waiting for me.

"There you are." Myla says upon hearing the door open. "It's about time you got here." She says in a joking manner. I sit down next to them and we open our lunches.

"So what's this about new members?" Hino asks.

"I already told you about them this morning. We accepted seven new people into the Guild." I reply and she nods.

"Yeah, but why did you accept them specifically? I know two of them had A stats, but the others were all new, right? They hadn't been in a Guild before nor had they had any combat experience."

"Yes, but we accepted them because they seemed promising. That and we don't want others thinking we only let strong people join. Andrew had a good aim with his bow. He'll be good ranged support. Mavis seems like she'll be good for scouting and supporting during battles. Nick uses Earth magic to both attack and defend, so he'll be versatile. Chase uses Body magic, so he could be a good front liner. Abigale uses Fire magic, so she'll be another good ranged attacker. My hope is that these five can form a group with either Irene or Marlo as their leader. Then they can clear out some weaker Dungeons on their own. It'll depend on how well they get along, and if they're powers work like I imagine them." I say causing her to nod surprised.

"I'm a little impressed with how far you thought this out. I thought you chose them based on their personalities and less on their potential teamwork." Myla says and I shrug.

"That was a big factor. But I wanted them to be able to form a group, so I made sure they weren't all ranged attackers. This way, I can use them as a sort of trial run. So when we get the dormitory built we know how to train them properly." I say and they each smile.

"You're already planning on more construction? Didn't you just finish your Guildhall?" Myla asks with an exasperated sigh.

"Yes, but we've currently got them building an arena Luna designed. Asami told me they started it this morning. It'll be done by Saturday or Sunday." I say causing them each to sigh.

"How much did it cost?" Myla asks.

"It was 425,000$." I reply causing them both to look at me even more surprised.

"Where are you getting this money from?" Hino asks and I smile mischievously.

"A few places. Firstly, we got some gold in the Demons Dungeon recently. We also are getting some new Ruins soon." I say causing them each to turn to me shocked.

"Really? Where are they? I didn't hear there were any newly discovered ones around here." Myla asks me causing me to chuckle.

"They're in Colorado. We got them as compensation from the government. I guess your parents didn't tell you." I say before explaining what happened in the Dryads forest.
