Chapter 1070 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Speak with Rada.

"Not a word of this leaves this room," speaks Rada. "So you best be telling me this is safe to discuss."

"I've kept it secret this long, friend. I see no reason to betray you now," Barkis replies.

Eva crosses her arms. "Great. So how many people know about me, besides me?"

"Honey, all stories I've told about your mother's kindness. Her strength. I've not lied once. Her identity was never what was truly important." Rada takes a quick breath. "Please believe me. Your mother was one of the the most beautiful, amazing people to ever live, though what she was would lead to her fall. That's why the secret was important. Even after her ****, I didn't want you to carry on that burden, and neither did she."

"... What was she?" Eva asks.

"A magic eater."

Her face goes pale. "Wh-What do you mean?"

"Why, what's that?" you ask.

She turns to you slowly. "Magic eaters were b-beasts who lived long ago. Though they were all slain. Weren't they?"

Rada continues. "A long time ago, beings called stel'ae lived with the rest, though not always in peace. Due to their innate ability to devour magic, many mages as well as others who wield enchanted items detested what they could do. They saw them as a threat. And whether or not they truly were is clouded by uncertainty. The history is vague. Though not all of these so-called magic eaters were slain. The ones who lived, however, hardly had lives at all. Your mother was one of them, Eva. A stunning, amazing, perfect, loving magic eater. And now that blood lives in you."

"I don't understand." Eva places a hand to her chest and swallows. "Were magic eaters not demons?"

"Not at all. If anything, they appeared more similar to that of elves, though with a faint tint of blue to their skin. The most obvious mark that would give them away is a single star shape, right here," he says as he taps his finger against his forehead. "I can't pretend that I was there. But if there were other magic eaters like your mother, then I believe the stories about them may not be all that true. I hope you can understand now. I didn't wish you to grow up as a mage hated by all other mages alive."

"I do not, if that's any solace," Barkis speaks up.

"Neither do I!" Amara stands to wrap her arms around Eva in a firm embrace.

"Sooo, do we feed her fireballs now?" Niki asks.

"Hey!" Eva barks back.

"... Outstanding. Yes, I've heard of the stel'ae, though I would never have guessed any lived this close to modern times," Vivi comments.

"What does this mean, dad?" Eva asks, panicked. "What does this mean for me?"

"It's fine, my daughter," Rada replies. "All this means is that you truly are your mother's child. You are still you. And to tell you the truth, I don't have experience with others carrying only half the blood of a magic eater. It's unknown to me whether or not it matters at all."

"Lepo was able to tell," you say.

After a long pause, Barkis speaks up first. "Lepo. Pardon me, but were you able to contact the Lepo? Creator of the entire bunnyfolk race?"

"We definitely had contact."

"Excuse me?!" Rada leans in close from within the orb.

Now with a rather smug face, Eva leans back in her chair with her arms crossed. "That's right. We spoke with both Lepo and Feli. While you all sat in your towers, we were out there finding out all sorts of things. So if you wanna know about Earth, or about Elok Daven, or about the tunnel spanning the length of most of Tivera filled with ant girls, you'll talk to your other Circle friends and help us with what we want."

Barkis peers down at Rada, and him back up to the other.

"Is Vazeela still in Tolis?" asks Barkis.

"I believe it's worth my time to check," Rada replies.

"That's right," you say. "I want a meeting with the Circle of the Unicorn. Demon King Kyle Warren, traveller from another world, ruler of Castle Phoenix and knower of many things. Groups of mages like knowledge, right? Well I'm full of it. Tanks full of information."

Niki shouts, "Yeah, come suck it dry!"

"Maybe a little too much, Niki."
