A Competition

As soon as Luna sees the Demon is dead, she runs over to the chests. She stops before them, with both of her tails wagging back and forth. She turns to face Innu and I.

"C'mon, let's see what's inside!" Luna says excitedly. I start walking toward her as Innu rushes over. I can tell she's just as excited as Luna, if not more so.

"Let's each open one, whoever pulls out the better loot wins!" Innu says before claiming the middle one. Luna nods and jumps on the chest to the left. I walk up to the last one and we each break the locks. The locks are made of regular metal and have no magic protections. I just pull on mine with my claws until it breaks. I lift the chest lid up and look inside. Inside I find three books piled on top of one another. Next to the books is a small red bottle. I recognize two of the books as Empty Tomes. They're books that Sensors can fill with mana, turning them into Spellbooks. It's how I taught Luna Ancient Beast magic. The third one however, is a dark green color. It has an image of a poison bottle and a golem on it. It's small and looks like the Stone Golems that I fought in the Ruins. The Ruins... It feels like it's been ages since then. So much has changed. I think before grabbing the contents and standing up. I turn to Luna and Innu who are both smiling. Luna holds two daggers in her hands, one a dark red and the other a bright blue. They each have a small charm hanging off each grip. The red one has a fire-shaped charm, and the blue one has an ice cube-shaped charm. Innu holds a spear however, it's much too large to have fit in the chest. It has a long metallic shaft. The shaft is wrapped in a dark green cloth or hide. The spear's blade is painted green and covered in Runes.

"Alpha, look at this! I got two weapons, so I won right?" Luna asks, rushing over to me and showing me the two daggers.

"No! Master, look at this spear! It can shrink! Surely it's better than those daggers." Innu says while making the spear shrink and grow. The shaft shrinks down to about a foot, and the blade becomes as small as a garden shovel. They each lift the weapons up and shove them into my face.

"Let me Observe them first." I say while stepping back. The girls nod and hold them up for me, but don't shove them against me. I Observe them while telling the girls what I read.

Wind Callers Spear Lvl 70, Mythical

This Spear was made by a master blacksmith. It was created for her friend, intended to keep him safe. She made it able to shrink and grow, so he would always keep it with him. It was carved with Runes, which boosts the wielder's Wind magic. The Spear is made from Epic-grade metals. It was later wrapped in the Mythical hide of a Wind Dragon. This further boosts the Wind magic of its wielder, as well as the overall mana of the weapon. It deals 1000-1250 Wind damage on attack. Hidden Properties: The wielder's Wind magic will deal 15% more damage and cost 10% less mana.

Icey Fire Daggers Lvl 75, Mythical

These Daggers were made by a mad, yet genius Alchemical Blacksmith. He wanted to unify the opposing Fire and Ice elemental magic and turn them into a weapon. He spends years testing and acquiring the correct materials. The red Dagger is made of bones from a Flame Dragon and the blood of a Flame Giant. The blue Dagger is made from the bone of an Ice Dragon and the essence of a Frost Elemental Matriarch. The red dagger deals 800 Fire damage and the Ice dagger deals 700 Ice Damage. The two daggers have a chance to inflict Burn/Freeze respectively.

Once I finish talking the girls look at their weapons before each other. They can't seem to decide which one's better.

"What about yours?" Innu asks, and I look down at my hands.

"Well, two of these books are Empty Tomes. Liz can fill them with magic, turning them into Spellbooks. That's how you learned Ancient Beast magic, remember Luna?" I say causing Luna to nod.

"What about the other two? The green book and the bottle?" Luna asks. I Observe them and tell the girls what I read.

Alchemist Spellbook, Mythical

This Spellbook contains the Alchemist School of magic. This School of magic was created to help Alchemists conduct their research and experiments. It can be used to create miniature golem Dolls that can do simple tasks. The Doll's ability to carry out tasks will depend on the medium used to create it. It allows one to pour their own mana into their ingredient. This School of magic is considered to be lost.

Greater Demon Golem Blood Vial, Legendary

This Vial of blood contains Demon blood. The Demon blood has been mixed with Golem Essence. This makes it an amazing, and nearly perfect medium to create Golems or Dolls. Due to the low quality of the Golem Essence, the Demon Blood was degraded and became of Legendary quality.

I tell the girls what I read and they look at each other confused.

"Alpha, what does it mean for magic to be considered lost?" Luna asks me.

"I'm not sure, but if I had to take a guess. I'd say it's a School of magic that no one uses. Probably because no one alive knows it, so they can't create any more Spellbooks. Hence why it's called lost." I say, causing them to pout.

"I think I lost." Innu says with a pout. I smile and store the items away before petting them.

"Alpha, what do we do with the gold?" Luna asks me.

"Let's place them in the chests for now. I can store them away and take them with us. I'll ask the Guilds when we get back." I say and the girls nod. We start piling the gold into the chests. We fill two of them up completely and the thrid gets half full. I store them away once we're done. The girls grab onto me and we leave the Dungeon.
