Side Quest - Chaos Path A Quest of Gold and Bones

A lonesome boat fought bravely against the terrible currents threatening to capsize it. These were the waters belonging to the Queen and the King of beasts. The Rubein seas it was called. And directly acted as a border between the famous Lucien Kingdom and its distant kin, the ever-strong willed and forever wild in nature, the beast folk from the Rode Kingdom.

A few highly esteemed figures were gathered on this purposely built boat. The boat itself was purposefully made for voyages across unpredicting seas. And yet all throughout the journey it just about glided across the frightening waters, just about managing to stay afloat with capsizing.

Five fellows stood in silence. All of whom were draped in long dark green robes with the sigil of a silver four winged bird with a sword wrapped in thorns beneath it.

A taller gent stood out amongst the group, he donned neatly cropped dark hair and a half shaven beard. He was a human brute with thick arms and tight leathers wrapped around his body. His name was Orion.

Two incredibly beautiful fellows stood behind him. Shorter than the towering brute of course. They both carried identical features. Both beheld the world through sparkling jade eyes with long golden eyelashes and a silk fall of tow coloured hair. The woman was quite endowed. Boasting two very large peaks unable to be hidden despite the heavy robe she had on. The man beside her had shorter hair, so one could see the pair of sharply pointed ears escaping through strands of luscious golden wheat like hair he cropped neatly to one side. These twins were of course Elves.

As for the other two. One of which had a peculiar set of tawny colored furry ears. Large cute round eyes and a playful grin. From a single look you could tell she was part of the beast folk.

The fellow beside her was a surprisingly young-looking boy with short wavy dark hair, but with the most intriguing set of scarlet eyes. They remained red for a short while before dimming back into their usual oily brown tint. The strange boy shook his head a few times. Then he quickly took out a small napkin and dabbled the corners of his eyes with it. Droplets of blood stained the napkin.

They were all silently gazing towards what should be their destination. A fast-approaching island with two towering mountains erected towards the skies, Orion thought the place resembled two human fingers made of stone. There was a dark mood flowing amongst the five. Not one of them stood confident in what was set to come next. But no one would back down from the challenge. After all, a queens decree was sacred.

“Aubrey?” Said the beautiful Elven woman

“Hm? The other Elf responded.

“Thats it isn't it? The island where the fallen ones live?” Her gaze seemed to sparkle with excitement.

“Sigh...indeed Elisa. That is the one.” Aubrey’s gaze trailed down before gently returning to the sea. His gaze filled with untold weariness.

“Fallen ones? Hmph why don’t you just call them for what they are? Elves do love talking in weird circles” said the girl with furry cat ears and broad shoulders.

Elisa’s perfectly shaped eyes narrowed into a frown whilst she beheld the beast girl. “I wouldn’t expect someone who shares the same lineage as mindless beasts of the forest to understand the importance of etiquette. “

“What is that? Can it be eaten? No? Then its useless! Just like all the other rules your people live by...fufufu stupid Elf”

“What did you just say!”

“Enough! Can we at least pretend as though our respective kingdoms are bound by a treaty? Less we forget the true enemy that awaits us.” Orion the human brute voiced with annoyance.

“The demons...They’re near” The one who stepped forward and spoke was the youthful short boy standing behind the group. They all watched him with looks torn between dread, marvel and caution. His dancing carmine eyes were just so menacing when switched on.

“Vox? Wh-what do you see?” asked the tall brute.

“It’s dim, but there are...th-three of them by the shore...They-they can see us.” The boy uttered softly

They all drew dark faces when they heard that.

“Sigh there's no helping it. These folk have survived almost a millennia. There's just no telling what level their powers are at.

Right! Everyone start activating your gears, this...this wont be pretty.” Orion declared

The rest of the people on board didn’t hesitate nor doubt the warnings. One by one they begun to equip their gears from the unexplainable empty spatial storage rings. One by one oddly shaped armors and weapons started to appear from the thin air.

The slender man standing right by the front of the boat watched their vessel nearing the stone covered shores

In his heart he was prepared for anything! How could he not be when he had been completing incredibly challenging quests since he was a nameless squire.

But something about this mission felt off. His intuition had never usually steered him wrong. In fact, he had risen to the illustrious rank of a Gold Knight by relying solely upon it.

He knew these thoughts were of course futile at this point. This was a mission delegated to him from his Queen. And he knew better than to defy the Lucien Royal House.

On the shore...

Three figures stood on a tall cliff overlooking the vast sea spread across their view.

Their spectacular gazes beheld the fast-approaching ship soon to arrive. Each one of these fellows was dressed in revealing and yet elegant light armor. Whether it was gold or silver braces. Or the fashionable pieces of metals worn in their hair just above their sharply pointed ears. One could not glance at the trio and believe them to be ordinary. A man with lavishly long silver hair stood in the middle between two girls. One of which had blonde hair tied into a bun, whilst the other carried shorter blazing red hair. The latter carried two scaly horns protruding away from her temple. She had childish freckles and wild looking hazel eyes.

“Ryuu? Is that them?” the childish girl asked with excitement gleaming within her gaze.

Ryuu was the silver headed fellow with handsome features and serious piercing blue eyes. He carried a single obscenely long horn on the side of his head. It curved upwards like an elephant's tusk. His outfit revealed his bare chest which had silvery scales which looked like runes across it.

Ryuu chose not to respond, his expressionless gaze never left the approaching ship.

Instead, it was the blonde girl on the other side of him who responded. She also had two horns, but unlike the robust kind which the fiery haired girl donned, her own looked more elegant and sleeked back alongside her sharp ears. They also carried a bronze sheen to them.

“Edna-Edna I thought I already taught you not to disturb senior brother Ryuu during these moments. Less we forget what separates us from our enemies is not only the overwhelming strength from our blood, but the peace and wisdom afforded to us as well. Learn to allow your heart be still in the presence of the approaching enemy.”

Edna lowered her gaze; her childish excitement had quickly been quelled as she wore a look as though she had been reprimanded. “S-sorry s-senior brother.”

Ryuu’s eyes suddenly moved slightly to his side. His blank gaze beheld Edna for a few moments before returning to the sea beyond them.

“The Queen of the mortals merely sent 5 Golden Starred Knights...how disappointing.” He remarked with a cool voice.

Ednas lowered gaze was quickly filled with excitement once again.

“Yes-Yes I knew it was them. Yayyy! Can I kill them now Senior brother-can I please-can I?”

“Edna!” barked the blonde girl

“Yelp!” Edna's dainty hands covered her mouth

“Sigh...Not yet inpatient one. Our mission comes before our desires. We will wait patiently for the right moment. Afterall, to them this is the island where we sleep is it not?”

“Indeed, Senior brother. They won’t know what’s hit them by the time they realize what this place is. “ Chusi smirked prettily.

“Oh, right Edna now remembers what our favorite lady told us about this island. Hehehe silly Billie's are going to make this easy.”

“I’ve seen enough. We will wait for them.”

The two nodded obediently before scampering after the retreating Ryuu. Back into the dense forest.
